Layla Hologram Effect EMERALD DIVINE 109 (LAY034) So I bought this polish that everyone is raving about & couldn't wait to try it out. BTW Layla is the name of my cute little niece. (The one I am always buying cute clothes for) :D Cool, huh? 1st I should say I have short nails because I work with my hands + draw, paint & type. Oh & garden. So I am really hard on polish, too. That said I am a 4-ever getting compliments on my hands (weird huh?) I usually don't show my hands in pictures though because I have a burn scar & it's rather ugly (to me) on my right hand. And yes, I still get compliments on how pretty my hands are. WTF?! Anyway, I really like bold nail polish. But usually have to wear conservative colors because of work. Life, what are you gonna do? And yes, I am the boss. The hologram effect didn't show up in the office. So I was wondering how many coats, and not paying that much attention to it. Okay, honestly I was calling customers back & painting my nails at the same time. Yes, I can multitask. Anyway, that's 3 coats & no top coat. I did have a base coat on. I then went to grab some lunch and walked out in the sun & OMG! Hologram. *____* wow The pictures do not do it justice at all! Really hard to capture the effect. So yes, I recommend this polish. It's about $20.00 on Ebay.
I think I'm going to try purple and brown next! Catch you later- Hope everyone's having a great weekend. :D We've been out having fun ~ Went to see the new Star Trek movie Into Darkness. :0 & Saturday Dinner at Carino's again + all the usual weekend stuff! There is NEVER enough time on the weekends. So much I want to do- The movie was very good! I will not spoil it for you, (hate that when people do that to me). But will say it was good, we both enjoyed it. I really don't read movie reviews, because most of the time it's all perception (or paid for or pissed off people) so when I took the poster picts (above) I saw a few reviews...ouch. But don't believe them...There is a lot of action, the effects were good without being an entire movie of effects (you know that kind of movie) & acting was good. So if you like Trek or Scifi or Action then go watch it. #intodarkness rocks. I wore this sundress & took a jacket. It's always freezing in Texas movie theaters. WTF?! I know it's hot outside, but come on...when we have to take jackets & blankets inside that's just crazy...:X Meanwhile dinner...Look I actually snapped some picts! Back at Carino's~ His Eggplant Parmesan, which he loved. Gruene Water Tower -Gruene- And then went to Gruene. http://www.gruenetexas.com/ (if you want to look it up.) Gruene (pron: green) is a former town in Comal County in the U.S. state of Texas. Once a significant cotton-producing community along the Guadalupe River, the economy is now supported primarily by tourism. This is THE PLACE to go to TUBING in South Texas & Gruene Hall is a must if you like live music. Jerry Jeff Walker was playing at Gruene Hall that night, so there was a MASSIVE crowd of people. So we didn't go in this time. What is this Gruene Hall and why are there water tower pictures? right? Well I cannot take pictures of the building at night because there are too many people in front of it, they cover the front. :( I do have some old picture of the dance hall in the day time, but they are toast or maybe on my twitter pictures. You are welcome to go check, I guess. Anyway just go to their website if you need to see the building sans tourists. Gruene Hall was built in 1878 & is the oldest continually running dance hall in Texas. It is birthplace to many great songwriters and musicians. Including George Strait, Ace in the Hole, Jerry Jeff Walker, Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely, Robert Earl Keen, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Hal Ketchum, Bruce and Charlie Robison, and many more. *According to their website. But there is more to Gruene than the Dance Hall. There are spas, wine tasting, shopping, rafting, restaurants, etc. (I guess I should take some photos in the daytime, huh? Maybe next month.) My NOLA friends are like "such a tourist trap" But I like it. So I don't bring them, when they come to visit. :X lol Random Night Shot. We were out by the river, but you can't see it...(so you must take my word for it.) It sounds so lovely rushing over the rocks in the still, quiet night. The weather wasn't smoldering so we just wanted to find a place to sit and talk, But as we were standing around listening to the water and looking for a safe place to sit, a truck pulls in and begins to lock the gates, with us inside... So Remembering being locked in a park just last month in New Orleans I suggest that maybe we should look for another exit or follow the truck out...WTF? (I am starting to think it's me, perhaps? Maybe it was a good idea we didn't go down that private air strip *see girls road trip, lol) But this man was was quite nice. Enough so he let us out! :D Yeah! Free again! So we left and went to another town and then home - end of pictures and good night. LOL, ok more as I have time. See ya! Hi everyone! Hope your Almost Weekend is off to a good start! It's been a really busy/crazy week for me. But exercise and eating right really help keep the stress down. And shopping helps too. LOL There is nothing like coming in from a long day at work to find parcels on the porch. Yeah! One of the parcels was a new WD Passport 3.0 External HardDrive for my MacBook. Yeah! I can has back ups now! I bought new off Ebay and got a really sweet deal! I love a Bargain! And... My Beauty Diary Facial Masks - Vit-C Lemon masks. 10 for $13.97 which is really expensive. :( Was from Amazon. My friends swear by them, so I am going to give them a try. I really like the When 10 O'clock Masks. Hope these are as good. You really have to take extra care of your skin when you travel! And... Saved a ton of money buying a lot of 10 New Copic assorted markers on eBay. I paid around $25.00 (they sell for $7.00 -$10.00each)!! :D And... Also bought this new Hologram Nail Polish that everyone is raving about. Cannot wait to try it out! It looks awesome! I'll post about it when I have time to actually do my nails :( I also bought stuff @ the Health Food Store & Baby Shop (See blog post on New Braunfels) + The normal stuff this week: Food, Office supplies, Fast Food, etc. But I count all that as Boring. So didn't bother with it. LOL + Super Busy week @ Work & trying to spend time with Family & Friends -- so MUCH to do before I leave the U.S. again. I surprised my family with Beigents this week too. They are not something I make often as it can be pretty messy & I HATE cleaning the kitchen after. So I know I didn't take any pictures after the dough was rolled out. (I had flour everywhere and didn't want on camera!) I heated the oil in a fry daddy and used a drinking glass to cut the dough in small parts. I deep fried for less than 5 minutes & drained well before sprinkling with sugar. I fry the "ends" too. So I end up with odd shapes, but EVERYTHING gets eaten. :) It made 3 plates full! They are MUCH prettier in New Orleans @ Cafe Du Monde. *Recipe is on the box, its easy- you can do it! :D After you are finished cooking, make everyone GO OUTSIDE to EAT. The sugar goes everywhere! You will be covered in powered sugar. Serve with Coffee, Hot Cococ or Milk. We ate on the patio and there was a slight breeze, the sugar went everywhere, hence my shoulder being covered, lol. So don't wear good clothes cooking this OR eating! (Notice I was not in black for a change even, lol) One more random thing from this week... The Texas Weather 3 days apart and look at the temps! 52'-93' Crazy! There was a BIG storm in North Texas (not near my part of the state) Wednesday night. People were killed and a bunch are still missing. Bad, Bad, Bad. Heart goes out those families. :( We didn't even get any rain. :0 Remember Texas is a BIG place. And one last thought.. Some of my friends from New Orleans are coming down next month! :D So we are planning adventures, Rick is calling me & that can never be good.. Always leads to trouble...(see Feb Blog Post--Goodbye to my Canon) LOL The time before that; he was here and we were watching TV one night and my Big Screen just up and died WTF?!?...Yes, I blamed him for that too.. LOL
Anyway- got to hide the electronics and go back to the office, Catch you later- Beauty is only skin deep. I think what's really important is finding a balance of mind, body and spirit. 20. Places I Want To Go UK (Yes, I go all the time, but it wasn't clear in the title) Ireland France (I could have put supermarket on this list so hush) ;X Mars (You know I would go) Norway (I just LOVE IT) Asia (The whole place, yes) Iceland Scotland (Sure, why not? It's kinda cool) Austria Sweden New Zealand Peru Italy Canada And the list goes on and on...Being a traveler I always want to GO. I want to RETURN to a lot of places too, (See list above) And there are many places I wish to see for the first time (See list above) plus there are places I dream of going to (Ahem, see list above- "Mars"). I have 7 countries on the list to visit in the next year. Some old favs and some new, unexplored places. *wow* Can't wait! So I had better get back to work to finance this adventure.
See you in the airport- #52weeks lists Another "Throw Back" Post. I was looking for more Paris shots at Snapfish and found some of my pictures of Portugal. (All my photos are toast, I'll post about it one day when it doesn't make me so insane.) :X So anyway, a couple of years ago (wow time flies!) I took a cruise from Galveston, Texas to Barcelona, Spain. We made numerous stops along the way. We disembarked, stayed in Spain another week and then took a bus & then a train into France. And stayed well for the rest of the year, but that's another story. Anyway, back to this trip. One of the stops was in the Azores. Archipelago of the Azores The Archipelago of the Azores is composed of nine volcanic islands situated in the North Atlantic Ocean, and is located about 1,500 km west of Lisbon and about 1,900 km southeast of Newfoundland. See Wikipedia for more info. Our Ship Docked in the Harbor, nice, huh? We really had a great time on this cruise! Ponta Delgada - Old Town On the origin of the place's name, the famous Portuguese chronicler, Father Gaspar Frutuoso, wrote: “This city of Ponta Delgada is named for its situation located along volcanic lands, thin and not too considerable like on other islands, that lead to the sea, and where later, was constructed the chapel of Santa Clara (Saint Clare of Assisi), which was named the Santa Clara point...” Around 1450, Pero de Teive, established a small fishing village that eventually grew until Santa Clara. -from Wikipedia After milling around the old city we went on a tour of the indoor pineapple plantations. I must say we were not excited about this. I like plants (a lot & I garden, too) but, it just didn't seem like it was going to be anything, BUT it was really a good tour! So do go see the pineapples, while you are there, k? The people there were SUPER nice! We learned a lot and had fun too. There was a gift shop and fresh pineapple to sample. Taste NOTHING like the fresh fruit in the markets! Very, very good. We were then going to take a tour of a volcanic crater lake. We boarded a bus, drove up, up and up higher and then there was a storm & fog! We couldn't see anything, at all. Not even the road! So we headed back down the Volcano & discussed the EU with the tour guides and the changes it had made on their lives and then went back to the ship. (BTW They refunded all our $$ for the tour!) So maybe next trip we will be able to see the Lagoa do Fogo (Fire lake). Meaning: I will go back there again. :) Eating Kinder eggs as we sailed off to the next adventure!
Catch you later- So I drove to New Braunfels, Texas to meet a friend for lunch & do a little shopping. New Braunfels is famous for, among other things, Wurst Fest & the Schlitterbahn Water Park. (Google it) But there really is a lot more to do there. This was just a quick trip- maybe I will go touristy one day - and show you the river rafting and the madness of Wurst Fest :0 Anyway, it was a lovely cloudy day- I really do not know what happened to the picture of the Health Food Store?? This is one of the strip centers, located by it. It is located to the far right and not in the picture. WTF?? It's called For Goodness Sake and is on Common Street by Carino's on the way to Gruene. I am usually in New Braunfels at night--(eating & then dancing in Greune hall) so the Health food store is always closed :( so this time I went early. As you know I am shy to take pictures inside the stores. (So enjoy that one, lol) The store was larger than I expected. Plus there was a good selection of products including: a juice bar, Vitamin & Herbal Supplements, Natural Body Care & Makeup. They also sold aromatherapy products and gift items. The prices weren't too bad. I spend around $50.00. Bought this And.. Then went to another store & bought a baby outfit for my niece. I love the head band! :D Then it was time to meet my friend at Carino's for lunch. No food Picts as we were too busy catching up. Food was good, as always & then we both had to leave. :( I wanted to do some more shopping, but had to make my next stop. Drove to another town to visit Ms. Y. The country side is still green. Even though its starting to get warm already. :( Visited with Ms Y over coffee. The San Antonio blend is sooo good! We made plans to go to New Braunfels next week for a lazy lunch and maybe will have time to check out some other shops. :D Then to pick up dinner, cause I'm not cooking after driving around Texas all day. More Driving -- now headed back home. The was @ 70 MPH so I think the Iphone did ok, lol Don't look too close. My jewelry for the day. I always get so many comments when I wear this Mystic Topaz set. It looks clear, but it picks up all the colors around it and flashes rainbow light. The bracelets were a gift. Cute, right? (Pardon the fuzzy front Iphone camera.)
Ok, Now off to exercise--Must Meditate and do yoga before bed! Have to work off all the pasta I ate today. LOL Catch you later- To all the mother's out there: Happy Mother's Day! Hope you are having a wonderful day. I rather rushed it, but she liked it. LOL (yes, it's the one I was drawing in the Instagram photo) I also bought her some new towels and some perfume. She seemed happy. :D (No new coffee maker, yet lol) And I made her a Strawberry Desert that she really likes. (It didn't photograph well, but it tasted good, lol)
Being a mother is a full time, thankless job. (Ask any mother, she will tell you.) But in that same breath they will also tell you its the BEST job in the world. :) So Thank you for all you do for us & Happy Mother's Day! Hello! Bon Jour! This is a "Throw Back" Post. I am not in Paris Today (very sad Face) :( All my older photos are toast (another sad face) BUT I went to my trusty Snapfish account and pulled some off there. Quality is not all that good, nor are they edited much...But Paris really doesn't need much in the way of editing. So here are some random walking around and sightseeing pictures of Paris, enjoy! So what's a better thing to do on a rainy day then spend it at the Louvre? We walked over from our apartment (it’s not that close, but in Paris walking is so much fun!) there is always so much to see. More than 8 million visitors each year, the Louvre is the world's most visited museum. it is located on the Right Bank of the Seine in the 1st arrondissement. (See Wikipedia if you need more info. ) There is ALWAYS a crowd inside. This Creeps me out --The Nike of Samothrace (winged Victory), marble, circa 190 BC It's HUGE & Headless :X Fought the crowd to get THIS close. Always forget how small the painting really is. Meanwhile just across from it is this SUPER large one. Inside looking out. I took about 1,000 more pictures. But I'll edit them later (maybe). I could spend YEARS inside and never fully see everything. Really LOVE the Louvre! I am always looking UP. WTF? I don't know why, but I do see some amazing things, lol That is also why I don't do too many videos. HAHAHHA Thats all for now. More next time-
So it's been quite a week. Most of it is a blur; I was sick :x the majority of the week. 1st I thought allergies but as I got worse I think it was a bug :( So who knows how much shit I screwed up at work. Adventures for next week, I guess. Had people over, fought with the gardener, (it's to the point I am sending illustrated texts as to what NOT to mow down, WTF?) Watched more $$$ fly out the door. And am in the process of buying a new set of tires. Exciting stuff, huh? Rick got me addicted (get it?) to Breaking Bad. So I've been laying around watching old Episodes & not going anywhere, course I was ill, that's my excuse, anyway. It's interesting & sometimes really hard to watch. Brutal in a truthful, idiotic way. Or maybe I just took too much Tylenol? WTF :/ So aside from tearing up online shopping (your welcome for fixing the economy) & buying my domain name, the highlight of my week has been sleep. :0 Oh & tacos... Next week I have a nonstop schedule & there will be no rest for the wicked.
I'm off to buy more Tylenol & walk the dragons. Catch you later ~ |
