Ready, Set, Jet!

Ok I lied. Christmas is all there is. Life has stopped completely here in Texas and Christmas is all we talk about, think about and argue about. I was rather sad last year because I was in Thornton Clevelely, England and not with my family in America. I'm really sad this year, because I'm with them. (Read about last year here.) Meanwhile this year in Texas most people I speak with are so stressed over Christmas that they are ready for it to all just be over! What to buy and how to afford it are they big topics. I'm just not into it, I must confess. My heart is elsewhere and I wouldn't mind returning to last December, as crazy as it was. Plus it seems impossible that the year is almost over. How can that even be possible? Meanwhile at my mothers, the holiday menu has changed 3 times so far. I don't really care, because I'm not cooking this time and I know the only Vegan option will be the napkins. * ___ * I've turned down 3 Holiday party invites this week, too. Call me Ms. Grinch. It's mostly due to the fact that I'm so behind with work and my mind is elsewhere. I'm grateful to be busy, don't get me wrong, but there just isn't enough time in the day and now its Christmas! Everything will shut down until after the 1st of the year here. Places will be open, but no one actually does any work, WTF?! So I'm trying to get everything caught up so I can go screw off too. Happy Holidays and see you at the airport~
23 = is about 73' F. Or no way it could be freezing close by...much less snowing.
Life in Texas. The parties! The Food! The Insane Shopping! Yep, It's Christmas for sure! I'm knee deep in shopping, wrapping and baking this week. I have a list of birthdays (Why are all my friends Sagittarius's? Oh, right, it's because they always like to go and have fun) and holiday parties I have to make an appearance at, since I cannot use the "I'm out of the country" excuse this year or can I? I've really been on the go lately, I do apologize for the lack of posts. Anyway, speaking of Christmas, the presents for ME keep rolling in. I bought way more than I thought during Black Friday. But the prices were such a good deal. I think too after living in England and having to consider the exchange rate/vat/postage to ship anything over the pond, really tipped the scales for me and I just went BAT SHIT CRAZY on my shopping. #DontJudgeMe How did you do? Get any good deals? Anyway, please enjoy festive Christmas Craziness of Texas. I have a few more pictures of crazy Texas decorations, from the local stores, but I cannot bring myself to take photos of some of the yard decor. *People have guns and don't take lightly to you walking around taking pictures of their houses. Even though there are some really cool decorations and some campy, over the top ones, and some that are just plain awesome, too, I have failed at picture taking. I have been planning on sneaking around after midnight, but lately we have had thick, dense fog roll in after midnight. A. stopped over last night for a visit and left around 1:00 a.m. The fog was so thick she had to drive 35 mph the 70 miles back to her casa. She said it was like driving through milk. #Yuck
Hopefully we will have better weather this weekend. I'm supposed to make a trip to Austin and the Trail of Lights. I haven't been in years, so it should be fun. Pictures to follow. Now I must go to work to pay for some of this loot, lol. Catch you later and Happy Holiday! Meanwhile in Texas the plants think its spring But winter is coming, look at that weather picture. Oh My God! One day this week it was even colder in South Texas than North Western England! WTF?! I just don't know....But as the saying goes, "If you don't like the weather, just give it a minute." * ____ * Because it will change, sometimes drastically in a day. My yard needs to be mowed again-
But honestly I do love seeing the plants all lush, green and flowering. I have been using this time to go exploring around a bit, more pictures to follow soon. Catch you later- This is by no means an actual review. If your want that go to an expert. I'm just a person who likes tech and takes a lot of damn pictures and downloads a millions apps. Now that being said, I recently moved up from an iPhone 6 to 6s. Well actually thats not true...My British Phone was a iPhone 6 and my American phone was an Android piece of shit brick, (but with a nice case) and should have come with a string tied to it to improve phone quality. It was a "no brainer" to lose the Android. And by loose I mean refuse to use it after the iPhone 6s appeared in everyone else's hands. When I synched the new baby (Brick never liked synching with my MAC Book, imagine that..) It popped my British pictures up, so I thought I would share random randomness of picture quality with you. I'm still learning all the new features of the iPhone. I (by no means), ever came even close to mastering the features of the last one....But I can tell you after playing with the new one 15 minutes I was sold. I never actually wanted to come over to the "dark side" of Apple. It's so cult-y and clannish that I just don't like that. Plus they are not a cheap hobby...But after actually using the products I was sold. They are just THAT GOOD. And the new iPhone 6s is too. Here are random shots from my old phone taken this summer in England. As you can see I pretty much take photos of the same things in the US and I do in England. Home life, sunsets, flowers, food, etc. I never could master taking a selfie with the UK phone. The angles were off, or I was looking too uncomfortable or something...The new camera is much better at that after using only 3 days! Natural light does make a HUGE difference but according to Apple "The iSight camera captures beautiful 12-megapixel still photos. But great photos aren’t just measured in megapixels. That’s why we’ve added a state-of-the-art sensor, a new image signal processor, advanced pixel technology, Focus Pixels, improved local tone mapping, and optical image stabilization. What does that all mean? It means we’ve taken care of the technology. All you have to do is find something beautiful and tap the shutter button for the best, most awe-inspiring photos you’ve ever taken." Read more at their site here. Actually as I look at this, this is the same rose bush as the picture on my side bar....Above the "We live in a world.." quote. I took that picture with either iPhone 4 or the iPad. It's a different BLOOM of course, but still big difference in tonal quality. Are they better? I think they are HUGELY better. Which is good for YOU too! Don't see how you benefit? I will continue taking random pictures of everything for the blog, but at least you can now tell what the pictures actually are... lol I honestly LOVE the new phone. The more I read, try and explore with it the more I find it does. The Live photo effect is stunning. It's the Harry Potter Newspaper photos come alive. And it shoots 4K video! #OMG! 4K video!
And did I mention the actual phone quality is so much BETTER too? Yes, I'm really happy with it. Now I'm off to work to pay for it! See you at the airport- It's amazing what a handful of Chia Seeds or Hemp in a smoothly can do for you! When I start dragging I cook black beans, what we don't eat that night I put in the food processor for bean tacos the next day.
Also Almonds are always a great snack to keep on hand. Buy the best organic you can find. And make sure you purchase, raw and unsalted/sugared. Some of these items are bit expensive but so worth it. It's important to not skimp on food. It's the fuel to keeping you healthily and happy. Not getting enough protein can really change your mood. Catch you later- If you missed anything last month, fear not. I have compiled the "Best of" list by the number of clicks you lavished on my random little blog. Perhaps not the BEST but the most popular blog posts for November 2015 are as follows:
Raw-Not-Cooking - A blog post about.... You guess it! Raw Not cooking. Posted on 11/11/15 and mostly me going on and on about the dumb ass myths we believe that RAW is hard. It's actually very easy and fun. Weekend-Way -A blog post from November 8th. Random as HELL. Bitching about rain, time and floods. A nice sunset picture is included. Blog Birthday-The Blog is now 3 years old! WOWOWOW So much has happened in the last 3 years, I talk a bit about some of it and show off my eye bags and smeared eye makeup. LOL maybe not all that much has changed.... After-the-Rains November 2nd post. Me mostly bitching about the weather, again and showing off flood waters. Nothing too exciting though. I wonder if I should change from a "travel blog" to a "weather blog" shit... 10-Best-2nd-Date-Ideas Post form 3/1/13 that ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ends up in the most read posts. Go read it now if you haven't already. This-Time-Last-Year 11/19/15 Throw back post speaking about where I was (in France and then England) this time last year. A few pictures and very little talk of the weather, I swear. Texas-Trippin A random Texas post. It comes complete with much talk about the weather and a video that pissed off my husband. Best-of-October-2015 Guess what this one is about? LOL Once again thank you so much for reading my silly little blog. I'm not sure how you found me or why you keep coming back, but thanks! I have more travel adventures right around the corner (fingers crossed) and more comments on the weather, I'm sure. See you at the airport- |
