Look what happened now...
Everyone should experience Mardi Gras at least once in NOLA. #TrueFact
(And if you like it then over and over.)
I didn't go this year nor the year before. My friends from New Orleans usually come to visit me. Because to be honest most of the locals leave the French Quarter during Mardi Gras and let the tourist run wild.
And wild it becomes...
I prefer now to only celebrate Halloween in NOLA or go for Jazz Fest. I'm thinking about a trip in early December, which is a lovely time to go as well. I went in 2013 and was ill, so it wasn't that much fun. #FML :(
But if you can't go to NOLA, bring it to you!
I don't decorate for Valentines Day - instead we pull out the creepy dolls and crazy stuff I have bought over the years in NOLA.
Decorating aside, I really want to spend one Carnival in Venice.
Can you imagine?
Happy Fat Tuesday, where ever in the world you are!
Hello out there~
I'm missing all thing New Orleans right now. My friends, the music, the food and the fun! Fat Tuesday is right around the corner and my Nawlins buddies usually leave for Texas to let the tourist have it, but this year our schedules didn't meet.
I have not been to NOLA in some time and am sooooo ready for a visit. (Read about past adventures here and here or just hit the tag, lol.) I usually stay a few days and make multiple posts of restaurants and shopping. I go at different times of the year, but there is always something fun going on. I have not been to Mardi Gras since I started the blog, maybe I should plan on attending next year?
It's absolute madness and everyone should experience it at least once and if you like madness (like you know I do) several times! There are multiple Mardi Gras celebrations through out the US, but hands down NOLA is the BIggest, Rowdiest and the Best.
Land of beads and moon pies, you never know how crazy things will get. It really is crazy fun.
But my next Travel goal is Mardi Gras in Venice.
See you at the airport-
On July 29th we drove my NOLA buddy BACK to Scotland. She as checking into a hotel in Glasgow for the night to catch a red eye flight to London and then back to the US. This was the ending of her 3 week long adventure in the United Kingdom. She really, really loves Scotland and Ireland...not so much England. So this was fitting. Click here to read about some of our adventures - I still have about a thousand pictures to sort and a lot to blog about.
So as sad as I was to see her go, I had a beach trip planned the day after we dropped her off. The English beach wasn't much warmer, but it did give me a break and let me catch up on my sleep.
I already miss her terribly. Saw so many things she would have loved. But maybe next time. Who knows where we will meet up at next? I feel a New Orleans trip coming on...
See you at the airport-
It was sad sending her off. We have been close friends for the last 10 years and she is probably the only one of my buddies who would make the effort to come to #England to visit me. So no pictures of our goodbye, it was just a lot of crying and shit.
We turned around and headed back to England right after. No sight seeing in Glasgow (as I've been like 3 times in 2 weeks) Both she and I were about ill too. We had been in the cold and rain, walking around cities, castles and bogs. #GoodTimes
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hope you are ready to Party!
I sure am...So I posting this tonight because tomorrow I gotta hit the ground running.
So many parties, so little time... :D
Now back to topic, lol
Here were my top posts (via clicks) for December:
*My Blog is 1 year old.
(Guess what this one was about??!) LOL
*New Orleans December Trip part 1
(Yeah finally some travel!) This is a fairly long, picture heavy post of getting to Nawlins'.
(Mostly just messing around. Picture heavy post with lots of cute borders.)
(Nail polish. Hats off to the ladies that make whole blogs on nail polish. Because let me tell you it's hard/impossible to achieve picture perfect nails!)
Anyway, thank you for taking the time to ready my silly little blog!
I can't wait to see what next year is gonna bring!
How's it going? When people find out I just returned from a trip toNew Orleans the 1st questions they always ask is: "How was the food?" followed by: "Did you get to catch any cool local music?" Well duh, of course! I love live music! And the blues stole my heart a long time ago. ?
Plus If you have been here before you know I'm no foodie. I live of coffee and beignets while there and actually loose weight after a visit. WTF?! #OnlyMe
BUT I do love music!
(You may remb. I have managed a rock band, am sworn off dating musicians, used to live in the live music capital of the world, oh yeah and used to be married to a musician wtf, etc. etc. from past posts. So yes, I know a bit about music.)
If you are planning a trip to The Big Easy then I would strongly suggest you check out this website for best info on where to go for the live, local music experience.
Now that I have given you this gem I must run! My buddies from (Guess Where? Yes, New Orleans!) Are in Texas this week and I have adventures planned! So be on the look out for more blurry pictures and random nonsense! :D
Catch you later-
*WARNING* This is a Picture Heavy POST :x
This is another night of adventure Char, Angelica and I had in the French Quarter last week. Angelica had gone to see something, (I think she was searching for the perfect gumbo? IDK), Char had gone to see her brother (who lives near by) and I was ill in the room, Oh what fun! Anyway, we decided to meet up that night to go explore. Char called and told me she would be back within 2 hours and Angelica said she was going on a Ghost tour and would text when she was done. The plan was to all meet up at Jackson Square for adventure.
I showered threw on some clothes & waited on the balcony for Char. There were quite a few people about. The French Quarter doesn't really sleep.
I got bored again + all the drunk people coming into the hotel were talking to me. #FAIL
I went outside to the pool area to explore. Angelica's tour was over and Char was stuck in traffic.
And we are finally off...after waiting and waiting..Char shows up! Angelica has texted that she was waiting but lots of "stray men" were about and she was headed to a bar to wait for us. (Like that would be so much better, right?!) IDK
Meanwhile Angelica had been in the bars for sometime drinking hurricanes and sampling the night life. So somehow she staggered (yes, really) over to where we were. She would so KILL ME if I posted her picture, but it was really funny!
We sat for awhile and then did a walk about. Oh and the fog had rolled in...making everything even MORE CREEPY!
Which is considered the MOST haunted place in New Orleans. Which is one of the MOST Haunted places in the US. #FunTimes
And Yes, something did happen there. We were standing there hugging the lamp post (As I like to do) see my last trip, anyway. Char said, "LOOK! DO you see that little boy?" I looked and saw a approx 3-4 year old blonde headed boy wearing a green stripped sweater (rugby stripped) standing towards the end of the street. Angelica didn't see him (But she was still drunk and confessed at this time she had been sitting on the ground in the alley earlier, WTF?) I knew he wasn't really there, couldn't be. But we went to see anyway. Char was gonna rescue him. I was gonna recuse her. We got there and nothing there but a fire hydrate which looked nothing like the boy. Odd huh? And no, We hadn't been drinking anything other than coffee.
We moved away from the alley and hailed another cab. Char went back to the room, while Angelica continued her search for the best Gumbo. I went with Angelica and took more pictures of the fog, (your welcome, lol). I was tried but we had fun.
How are you? Hope all is well. This is Part #1 of the December New Orleans trip. I have already blogged a wee bit about it...here andhere. But this is the actually the beginning of the trip. (I'm still living an inception kinda life.) WTF?!
I should make yet ANOTHER cat. for "birthday parties" as I seem to go to sooo many of them. LOL Anyway this was a surprise party for my besty that lives in New Orleans. We flew out and were sworn to lie to her until the night of the dinner. She's (the one) who reads my blog/getglue/tweets/instagrams/dayre so I had to post I was adventuring to Panama or she would know and I would be killed! Or at least they would make sure I never forgot I was the one who spoiled the surprise. #Suffer4Life
And try to pack for formal events, late nights in the Quarter and Winter/Summer temps. WTF?!?! Not so easy. :( I also noticed my wallet was getting dirty *yuck* so ended up taking a chance and washing it.
As the weather turned off warm again and I was attempting to pack up, #SuperExcited - When suddenly everyone around me falls ILL. :X EVERYONE. I mean Everyone is ill from my mother to the gardner! I tried to back away slowly and not get sprayed with germs but #FML!
You know I ended up sick too. Fuck! So pissed off! ^*^*&%*(%^(&%^&@$^%$@!!!! Cover your ears boys & girls. I was not a happy camper. I had been looking forward to this adventure for MONTHS! And now I was actually too ill to have much %^$&$ fun. HELL!
I didn't tell Angelica or Char I was ill. I looked like death but they pretended not to notice. #TrueFriends over look your zombie face & crazed eyes...
Drove to airport to find it at Over flow! WTH?!? Oh right! It's Christmas!
My big purchase in the Austin Airport. And Yes, it pisses me off that I paid over $5.50USD for 2 regular size bottles of water and its a shit brand I don't even like. Grrr. But it falls under what are you going to do? You are hostage, since you are not allowed to bring water in + I am sick and need fluids. :o
Ok, I will stop bitching and get on with the story...
And if you still believe "getting there is 1/2 the fun" then your not flying commercial.
* ___ *
No pictures in Dallas Airport either. I didn't even have time to buy more water, good things I got 2 the first time. #AlwaysPrepared cough, cough and if you believe that one your new here.
We landed, raced out of the plane as I pulled girls after me. We took the train to another part of the airport because our gate was way far away. And I jumped off train, still pulling the girls, to the gate as they were doing the final boarding call for our flight! I really hate those tight connections. But we did make the plane and it was a smooth flight to New Orleans.
No pictures in that airport because I was puling girls to grab luggage and get in taxi. LOL
Meanwhile at the *hackstand (Thank you Steve for teaching me that word) you are asked where you want to go and then given a paper to show you just how much it's gonna cost.
And yes, you know I knew the cost since I visit pretty often. So I had already warned the girls. We had a nice trip into the Quarter and checked into our hotel.
They fell out while I dealt with the hotel reservations. I don't even remember what we ate that night??!
All I know was my cold/flu/zombieillness was really bad and I slept for a few hours. Its a rule, you see while in the Quarter you are never allowed to sleep more than a few hours, Why? Because there is always so much going on and you need to be out there exploring! LOL
I did go out later and find Evian at a corner store. And the girls and I ate a late supper somewhere. It was good, I was just really tired so no pictures. Oh! I almost forgot! We stumbled across a film crew. It was set up to shot a scene for (Someone said) American Horror Story? We stood around for approx. 2 minutes and saw nothing exciting so we took off. #AttentionSpanofa2yearOld
To be continued-
How are things? OMG is all I can say. It has been a whirlwind of activity these last few days! I'm traveling, I'm ill and It's the Holidays. So in no kinda order at all here is a bit of our adventures..
I flew out with 2 other girls to New Orleans (USA) and that itself was an Adventure. We went for a top secret surprise party. (Read just a wee bit about it here.) I have about 1,000 stories already, lol
And after the Formal party (Which I was too ill to attend #FML) there was an AFTER PARTY Which I did make myself attend. And AFTER the AFTER Party 3 of us went to the Casino. #ThePartyNeverStops.
I admit to being so tired I could not see straight. :o We took a cab and decided to gamble for a while and then meet up and regroup. I had
This was my second visit to Harrah's this year. Click here if you want to read about the other visit. But I was too shy then to take any photos in the casino. *They used to not let you, but now how to stop all the smart(ass) phones??
Speaking of smart(ass) I was also in Vegas this year. Crazy, huh? Esp. when you know I'm not a gambler! Truth is I just like to party..lol (There I admitted it! #TruthIsOut)
The only reason we went this time was Angelica had never been and so we MUST TAKE HER. Why at 4:00 a.m. & after all the events I got no clue...#SeemedLikeTheThingToDo
Anyway I'm sorting through the pictures of "all those events" now...so many longer posts to come. Hopefully pictures will be better too. WTF?!?! Sad, right? :(
OH! And the next night at 2:00 a.m. we were down in the haunted section (which I love too) when the fog rolled in & shit got a little weird. :X
So more to stories to come. But for now I gotta sleep.
Take care and Happy Holidays!
I know I was just Bitchin about Pumpkins and all but this is DIFFERENT-
What are you doing for Halloween? You know you have to plan early if its going to be something awesome..This is kinda late, even now. :(
I know what I SHOULD DO...
Nothing. Stay home, spend no $$$ and keep the porch light off so the kids don't hit me up for candy. But what fun is that??
(Creepy pictures I can take, right? Said with my cajun freaky accent, lol. Still wondering about THAT adventure.)
Click link only if you want to read me cussing like a truck driving Sailor
Anyway, back to Halloween--What I'm really thinking about is flying off to NOLA, again..
For a Little Halloween fun & mayhem. But I am planning a week in San Antonio for Thanksgiving (Yes, More $$$ Flying out the door. But it is tradition that we go away that week.) So I called one of my buds in New Orleans regarding where they would be for the holiday. They have no plans on coming to Texas so we started talking about Halloween..
I always have fun in NOLA (read some post here and here) but Halloween is the BEST there. Well its the best if you like to dress up and throw down. :0 #ImJustSayin
If thats not your thing, visit some other time.. :X
Read about Voodoo Fest 2013 here. Nov 1-3 Great Line up, as always.
So IDK. We shall see how this next week goes. I really should stay in Texas...So tell me what wild things you are doing for Halloween. Maybe I just need some fresh ideas? :D
Right now I have a date so I must find a suitable dress & do my hair. Look for blurry food and fun pictures on instagram tonight, lol.
Catch you later-
