"This world is but a canvas to our imagination." Henry David Thoreau So how is your week going? Good, I hope. I have been painting. Can you tell? LOL Some for work and some just for me...Why? Since I always whine I am soo busy? Because I have to. I was thinking about that the other day. It really is a soul expression. For me, anyway, it's a way to understand or speak something that I just can't put into words. I know it works as a active meditation too. I feel my brain waves change when I sketch and also when I paint. And I like how that feels. :0 After a trip I usually have to draw for a week solid. (Or after a big life event.) My stuff is not that good, but it's not about that..it's about the enjoyment of doing it. You know? Do you have something like that you do? (No, thats not me..why did you click it? LOL I saw something similar on line & did a quick sketch. Be nice now.) "Painting is just another way of keeping a diary." Pablo Picasso Ok, Thats all the time I have. Am I whining again?? :( I have meetings most of the day. (Do I sound excited? No?) Then errands, yoga and if I am lucky some sleep. + I need to fit in some sketching time, lol. Talk soon-
Go watch the movie..
Hello, How is it going? Busy here. Work called me out of town yesterday and I managed to have a little fun while out & about. Visited Ms. Y., visited my bro, went shopping & to the cinema. I still feel like I am "skipping school" when I catch a movie in the early afternoon. Even in summer..wtf? But its a nice feeling too. :D NOTE: I did finish all my work duties before I snuck off to watch Grown Ups 2. Today is another story, lol But it was a very good day..made even better by the fact it was raining! I have been attempting to visit my brother’s hydroponic garden for a month now and took this opportunity. What do you think? Everyone else has lost all their tomato plants due to the heat (110’F) & lack of water. (Hence my excitement over the rain.) While his are still producing, he also asked me to deliver some tomatoes for him while I was in town…yes, *sigh* why not… Meanwhile the sky had changed to this and I figured I better head home. While I was out I also picked up a eggplant. I really was craving some eggplant parm. It's really quite easy, but people act like its a big deal? IDK..
Anyway I have a meeting now so I'm off & it looks like more rain. :D Catch you later- Vegas babyHey, I just broke down and told my brother I was going to Vegas for a few days. He is umm, well, not a very good gambler. He lectured me regarding the evils of gambling. :X This was on the phone so I let my mind wander back to the last time he went to New Orleans with us. I was out & about with my guy and 1 of our other friends called me very upset from the Casino. She informed me she could not get him out of Harrah's Casino. (Click to read about my last adventures in Harrah's) He told her he would not leave as long as he had money... * ____ * So yes, please give me gambling advice...Rolls eyes. But I listened and then reminded him that I rarely gamble more then $20.00 because $$$ is for SHOES! WTF?! I was not going to gamble. I was going to just get away..the price was insane and I wanted a BREAK. If you want to know what the hotel cost read this post. One friend is talking about getting remarried in Vegas, so I sent her this. (See below) She thought it was funny..he did not. LOL So anyway, there is a lot to do while there beside just gamble. But be warned it is hot as HELL during the summer. (Not unlike my part of Texas) so keep that in mind when planning a trip. Oh & the dinning is very expensive. I don't know why everyone thinks its so cheap?
Ok I have things to do and heat/sunlight to avoid. So this is going to be super short. (Read the weekend post if you want longer, it's right behind this one and has like 24 pictures of randomness.) Catch you later!
Random Palm Trees on a Random Weekend.
Hey, Hows it going? Busy as F&*^ here. Went shopping, had my hair cut at a new salon, went out to eat about 100 times, went on a date, went dancing, & went shopping again. And it was SUPER HOT.. I went to Seguin, Texas to get my hair done for a change. I usually drive into San Antonio but I was pushed for time. Sequin is a town of about 25,900 (before the oil boom) It looks nice and shady in those pictures but it was really hot. Sorry its blurry. I was stopped at a traffic light. It's 106'F I am not getting out of the truck to take pictures, even for here. Oh and it's pronounced "Pah-con" in South Texas not Pee-can. Since I was early I went to grab a quick bite. Did you know we had nice palm trees like that? After the hair cut I went on to the supermarket in Seguin and it was jam packed with people. We walked around Gruene and did a little shopping. But it was still too warm & I was tired. So then we headed home & I saw this SUPER SIZED BUC-EE'S my customers at work had been telling me about. So we stopped for coffee and to explore it. OMG it is so big & full of, well all kind of stuff. Doesn't everyone go to a Truck stop/Texas Market on a date? lol. Anyway it was really big and crazy full of stuff and people. (He asked me if I wanted a T-shirt. I just looked at him, WTH!?) I took more pictures...but didn't want this post to just be about Buc-ee's. It's big enough it deserves it's own post. WTF!? We have one (not this big but still crazy sized) about 15 miles from our town and we take our out of state/country visitors there so they can buy Texas T-shirts and be amazed at the price of a BBQ pit. Ms. Y always says she going to do her Christmas shopping there..but never does. hee hee Anyway, A little more loot came in this weekend. I was pleased with all these tanks. (All from Ideeli & ALL ON MEGA SALE) OK, that's it for now. I have a brunch date (Tacos, lol) and then fun stuff like laundry and repotting plants. I have been so busy I've not been cooking much. See my basil is blooming :( Ending with this because it is soooo true. Ok, well hope your weekend is going well and you are exploring your area. I'm in Austin, TX for a week in Aug and Vegas in Sept. I think I will go to the Grand Canyon again while I am that close. I haven't been in years. (Not that I think it has changed much, lol)
Anyway, more later- HybridHey, Happy Weekend! So I finally got with Ms Amanda to check out her new car. It is a Toyota Prius. I have been keen on the hybrids for some time & wanted to know more about them. (And I am always happy for people when they get new cars!) She bought hers used and just LOVES it. Sorry its blurry, Action shot lol We drove to the Sonic and it was a very smooth ride. The car is MUCH BIGGER inside than it looks. And it had some power (which I wondered about in traffic). I think it is awesome! :D We also had a nice visit before she headed back home. She lives a couple of towns over (closer to the beach) or about 1 hour away. Amanda is one of the nicest people I have ever met & we have been friends for a really long time. We don't see each other often, life being so crazy and all. (So I cherish the time we do get to catch up.) She has 2 wonderful children that keep her very busy too. Her daughter is a very talented singer and I expect someday she will be very famous. I'm headed out now so this is a super short post. OH! I also answered some questions about the clothes & shoes on ASKFM The items were really affordable. So maybe I should list the price when I post?! What do you think? Or just ask me on there?
Have a great weekend and talk soon! Hey, Hows it? More stuff came in yesterday, so I'm pretty happy. I still love getting parcels. Maxi Dresses, Sephora and Copic Sketch markers just arrived. Yes, I am saving the economy one click at a time. (Your welcome) :D Really like the patterns and the colors in this dress. Would you guess both of these NEW MAXI Dresses came from EBAY! Awesome much or what? I like to shop & I don't like to over spend. I Must be thrifty for the travel fund! Also speaking of travel, both dresses are washable. Which is a must for travel. With a light cardigan & heels they will become instantly more dressy or can be paired with cute sandals for a fun, casual summer look. Very happy with them. The look nice and will travel well. Actually one is a little big, but have seamstress who alters my clothes, so major happy with these. And, And... Sephora! I have tried to stay away, but I really needed the eyelash curler and the polish was on sale too. So after the 3 samples and what have you, I ended up with a box full of stuff. When work settles down I will go through the box, photograph and review everything. Really. I just have no time right now...And since I have NO TIME, I really want to draw.. Always works that way. I seem to pick up random markers, thinking I am filling in the set, when I'm not. I went to print the color chart and found there are +350! These also came from Ebay. And to give you some idea of the savings: The 2 new dresses cost less (with shipping) than the markers. Crazy much?
Ok, that's it for now. Trying to fit a trip to the salon in before dinner and dancing this weekend. Talk soon- A Little LootHi ya~ So some of my online shopping loot has finally started drifting in. So far, so good...more or less. I found that 1 shirt was too big (the light blue one pictured on the right.) I will give it away and the other looks like "scrubs" to me. Not the cut, but the material. But the shoes fit and the rest will work. As you can see from the boxes all this was from Ideeli. There was a good sale and free shipping for a month, so I didn't spend much at all. #Ideeli rocks!
The other package was Amazon and it was a book for a friend. Ok, I'm late for an appointment --so more later. Slow Down & Smell the Flowers!Hey, How's it going? Thanks to my multitasking abilities I was able to sneak off & do some shopping. :D Well, sorta.. I actually went looking for an antique rack/shelf thingy for a friends birthday. (He has everything else in the world, but mentioned he wanted one..WTF?) I returned to find flowers! Yeah! Who doesn't like to be surprised with flowers? The pretty card Speaking of slowing down..It was nice to receive a hand written card from the B & B thanking me for choosing them for the Birthday Party. (Click on the picture to read that post.) I am sure I will use them again when I have to host the next wedding shower or what have you. So after a hard day shopping, we picked up tacos and did some R & R on the back patio. It was still hot, but no one burst into flames... I hope you have time to slow down and chill too. Life is too short to always be rushing around, right?
Talk soon- Hi All- Went to the cinema last night w/Rick. We watched The Lone Ranger and ate at Mamacitas. The movie was good. Lots of action, just enough humor and well Johnny Depp. So go see it.. I know we will buy it when it comes out on BR. All the little kids/pre teens were watching Despicable Me 2 so that was really nice! It was a older crowd, with no babies crying or kids running around screaming and throwing stuff. Mostly couples & teens on dates. We usually don't go on the weekend because the last few years the kids have gotten WILD & totally out of control. I mean so wild that no one can enjoy the movie. PEOPLE, do not drop your children off at the movie. DO NOT DO IT. Ok, rant over. Movie was good, venue was acceptable and dinner afterwards was awesome! As I said before it is always FREEZING inside there :X Actually I quite like the purse, though. It's brighter than I usually carry & I guess I need a change now and again. And as we were driving into town the sun was going down.... Before we headed out I spent most of the day (despite working) messing around with this blog page. I added A Live Feed Widget to the website..It shows who is on the page and were they are from. (or is supposed to) Do you think its creepy? I kind of do, but then again I kind of need to know if anyone other than Rick is reading my blog. :(
I'm getting quite a few hits but no comments... So anyway, after screwing with it ALL DAY....I deleted it. I don't know why but I could not get the code right..at all. #FML :( So oh well...Someone is just going to have to comment! Talk soon- Hey, How's it going? Mayhem here! :X No, it's really not THAT BAD. It's just I can't find my desk for all the paperwork on it and Rick blew back into town. My early Birthday/Vegas shopping continues & some of my parcels are starting to drift in. Can't wait to sort them, there were so many GOOD sales. I just need the time to try everything on and check recpts, etc. Time, hahaha And speaking of Loot-I guess- Rick brought me this from his trip to Cali. Because he thinks I'm a biker? Why he didn't get me a cute tank top or something leather? I don't know. Men?!?! I don't want to seem ungrateful, but sometimes I don't know what he is thinking?! Does this happen to other people or is it just me?? Anyway, we are going to the cinema tonight to see "The Lone Ranger". I understand it tanked and the critics hated it. Well, since they usually have no idea what people want to see I figure it should be great, plus its Johnny Depp, so get real. I'd pay to watch him brush his teeth #truestory (Bonus if he's shirtless. :0) It's also raining! Like 1st time in 2 months maybe? So it will not be as hot! :) It's always freezing in the cinema and usually you have on shorts and need to bring a blanket. How crazy is that? He was giving me the evil eye and staring at me till I pulled out my phone, lol. Then OMG Shy.. * ___ * My Short Road Trip- I am sorting pictures & going through some of my old notebooks and journals. I took a short road trip this last week, so hope to edit and post those pictures one day soon. I think this is REALLY too much paper to be packing around with me. Ok, I'm going back to work now. Hope you have a FAB week!
Catch you later! |
