Dear Friends,
I hope you have a great day of love - but more than that, I want you to have an entire lifetime filled to the brim with love, laughter and adventures. And to that strong man who is my rock, my best friend and my heart: Thank you my love for giving me space when I need it, hugs when words won't work, and being by my side always, even when we are on different continents. Because no matter where I wander, I always feel loved and appreciated. You're compassion, wit and wisdom, (plus zen like approach to loving me) fills my life to the brim with happiness. Happy Valentine's Day xx Hello Travel Family!
How are things? This was not a travel week for me, sadly. :( I had company over and we were looking for a movie to watch... Note: We were not BFFs so the list from the 39 Movies was not going to cut it. He suggested Alien Code. A 2017 low budegt release that neither of us had seen, but had heard good things about. The whole idea of aliens, time travel and how we would fair isn't new, but this movies take on it was novel enough to keep you watching. The flim was actually quite good. The selling poit was the acting. The leads were very talented and way above par for a low budget movie. At time it had that kinda campy feel to it, but the actors made you quickly forget that. If you are looking for a good scifi flim no one has seen, check it out. Speak soon~ Hello, Its been so busy here - I have not posted a proper post in sometime (maybe ever?) Last weekend I worked 1/2 a day then raced to Subway and devoured a salad before racing to meet the ladies for shopping and drinks. We met up in New Braunfels. We went to several shops (I thought the mixture of shops here were a bit odd, IDK) and roamed around. Finally stopped for drinks. I had tea (Since I don't drink) and had a date later. I raced outta there home to shower and changed again and was out the door. Left there and headed to the new X-men movie. Wolverine is my fav so I was excited. It was VERY GOOD. Go and see it. :D I made it back home after 2:00 a.m. (or June) lol It was a nice Saturday all in all. Sunday up early to jog (not). Actually I was up for the breakfast taco delivery. Was starved after that awful salad at Carinos. Sunday afternoon I went to a housewarming/BBQ (no pictures) as I didn't stay long. I was invited to 2 parties Sunday night but didn't attend. #NotSocial went home to sleep, zzzz zzz zzzz zzzz zzzz #LifeofTheParty lol
Any way, how was your weekend? Ready for Summer? It only gets crazier and faster from here on out. :D See you at the airport- Hey! How are things? Busy here, as usual. I'm happy to see March, how about you? Summer is not far off. :D Below were the most clicked links (maybe the best of, maybe not) for February. Feels A Lot Like Spring Peach trees and flowers are beginning to bloom. Short post, but pretty pictures. They really came out well, considering I just used my phone. :D S-Age is Just a Number Review of new nail polish. Short and to the point - polish is pretty and I like it. LOL My makeup reviews always score high in clicks, which is odd, cause I feel like the pictures are shit. Its so hard to take good photos of nails. I continue to be impressed with the Instagram gals who take such amazing pictures WEEKLY of their nails. Another Girls Movie Night Not sure why this was so popular. I know its not because there is a crappy, hung over looking picture of me posted. :x 14 days of Valentine Goodies Pt 1 I am so Spoiled! This post is me sharing some of the cool little gifts I rec'd for Valentines day. I have so many kind, caring people in my life. #TotallyLucky No Pictures Allowed One of the longest posts I have written in awhile. Lots of words and 42 pictures. WOW I was in a story telling mood for sure. I actually have told this same story (san pictures) so much in the weeks that followed and every one mostly agreed that Jack N the Box is crap (after they laughed their asses off at my story). March looks like its going to be an awesome month. I hope to make a trip to the Gulf for some r and r. + I have a business trip to Dallas coming up and of course theres movie nights with the girls and dating and camping, as I can find the time. In the meantime I am packing up my house and trying to enjoy life day to day.
Thank you for reading my silly little blog. If there is something you want me to write more (or less) about please let me know. Take care and talk soon- Or Is that a Challenge? Read on for my choice of title... Warning! Picture heavy post! Hey! How are you? That was last nights fab dinner, looks yummy, right? :D I'm still in Texas and having fun. We went back to New Braunfels for a little dinner and R & R. The sunset was exceptional on the drive over. After sundown it got DARK! I grew tired of taking random picture and we sat down on a bench to wait. Seemed safe enough right? But little did I know the bench was in a little alcove with other, more interesting people. Seated right in front of us was an older couple (Who were 75 if they were a day) and next to them was a another couple approx. 45, I’m guessing? The older couple was all "grrr" at each other. Somehow they had a iphone (or droid) and appeared not to be familiar with its working as they were quite busy punching ALL its buttons and complaining about it, the wait and EACH OTHER very loudly. Meanwhile on the other end of the bench the other couple looked like they needed to "get a room". She was in his lap, rubbing his chest and they were making out like a couple of horny teens. OMG! Maybe they were teens and neither of them believed in Sun Screen? IDK? But it was all rather unusual & loud & visual. (ugh) We equally tried to ignore both of these peculiar couples, heads down, just look away. I poked at my phone and pretend this was a normal occurrence and he pondered his non-existent text messages with great concern. Only stopping every few minutes to ask me, “Are they calling our names? Is our table ready yet?” As both our neighbor couples grew louder and more amorous. WTF? Who acts like this in public? *Who knew the wait time came with a show?? So after a FAB (and entertaining meal) we headed over to Greune to check it out. The line to get into the dance hall was way, way too long. So we didn't stay. That was a random store on the way to the bridge. Another too dark to see anything. So I was cold, had too much tea and now the sound of running water. MUST find lady's room. Which is how we ended up here. (See next photo) Jack in Box. (And the reason for the title of this post) So we couldn't figure if they were actually open or not, there were no cars outside. WTF? On a Saturday night? (This should have been the 1st clue that this place was a little odd, but when you gotta go, you gotta go.) So anyway we raced inside and went to restrooms. I was out 1st and was waiting on him. I figured we would prob. order coffee, but was waiting for him. There was a woman on my left mopping (it was 9:30 pm) and around the corner was the area to order food and more tables. So I'm standing here waiting for him with my cell in my hand (of course) and feel someone watching me. You know that odd feeling you get when someone is staring at you? Look up and out the door and see the guy in the black hoody. He was lined up right exactly with me and we were both wearing black. It looked really odd with my reflection and seeing him through the window. So what did I do? I took a fucking picture. (NO SURPRISE, RIGHT?) Instantly the woman on my right comes at me, “WHAT ARE YOU TAKING PICTURES OF?” Me..“UMM, WHAT?” “THERE IS NO PICTURE TAKING IN JACK IN THE BOX. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TAKE PICTURES IN HERE!” Me, “What?” (I sort a look around for a sign like you find in some museums and realize thats just dumb. But I didn't take any more pictures.) Thin Mgr lady, becoming more militant, “THERE ARE NO PICTURES ALLOWED IN HERE!” Girl mopping on other side of me :o I look at her; she puts face down, returns to mopping. Date comes stalking outta bathroom; look on his face is WHAT THE FUCK IS HAPPENING AND DO I NEED TO GET MY GUN. (Remb This is TEXAS boys and girls. We don't play that shit, we shoot.) Me: “I was just messing with my phone.” Militant Lady looking at both of us now to see if he is in on this travesty with me. “WELL THERE ARE TO BE NO PICTURE TAKING IN HERE.” I briefly think of pulling out my large camera (which is with me in my purse) and cost more than she makes in a month and start snapping away…but I didn’t. I do have some manners; I realize she is probably just doing her job. Poor thing, kids to feed at home, yadda, yadda, yadda "/ She took the silence from me as me showing weakness and took another step towards me like she was going to grab my phone out of my hand. I forgot all my well trained manners at this moment. I must have given her my best “touch my phone and die bitch look”, cause she backed off rather quickly. I noticed he had now moved to right beside me and was looking like he was getting ready to start a rant. Oh Lawdy! I said, “I was taking a picture of the guy outside.” Date looks at me like “what? ANOTHER MAN?” Mop girl pops back up and says, “Oh its ok he works here!” Like problem solved! It’s all good! Sunshine and roses. Unicorn poop to follow. I take this moment to leave and drag date with me. Who is now looking around for a man somewhere he can fight! We get in truck and he asked me to explain form the top, which I did. He said, “Ok, I see." He has calmed down now, no men to fight. So he has this idea, "Now lets go back in and tell them we work for the eyewitness news team in San Antonio and I’m your camera man. We have some questions they need to answer! Either now or on film for the 5 o'clock news!” I roll my eyes. He has another idea, "We go back in and ask them if they have ever heard of that show undercover boss?" I laugh and say just drive fool! Why I can take photos all over the world but NOT Jack IN the Fucking box, I don’t know. I promise I didn’t steal the secret sauce recipe. (Date: That’s MsD’s) :/ So let that be a lesson to you, boys and girls, beware the militant workers of Jack N the Box and leave your camera gear at home. There must be SOMETHING there they want to hide. * ___ * (If nothing else the lack of customers.) Catch you later - *Warning* Picture heavy post. To celebrate my completion of the MEGA BIG project at work we went out to eat & party. It was warm again so EVERYONE was out celebrating too. I know they must have been happy for me. Went here for Angelica's Birthday & it was hmm how to say? Lacking? The food was meh to ugh! So we thought we would give it another try. Apparently so did the rest of Texas...the wait was 45 minutes and it looked like it would be longer. So we passed on that.. Rudy's shares the parking lot with Carino's and it was full too. But like I say it warmed up from Friday's snow to Saturday sweater weather. So everyone was out again, I guess? Or it was some new holiday. The "take your screaming child out to eat day" but that mostly happens everyday. :o So ok, back to my story. We left Carino's and motored over to old reliable Olive Garden. It was super jammed and wait time was 45-50 minutes. So left there and I'm ready for tacos or grass or cardboard or ANYTHING. #Starved! Now stuffed and totally happy we were off to Gruene. Weather is getting colder, but still really nice. :D If you want the scoop on Gruene, (what it is and what there is do there). Click this post for my history lesson. We come here quite often actually, but do different things. It's approx an hour away from my house. My New Orleans buddies hate it. They say too touristy #Whatever We like it. It was a really nice evening. Gruene is really DARK, so my pictures NEVER turn out good there. (My excuse, ok?) But its a cool place to visit. I was just happy to be outta the office, to be honest. :x Today I'm gonna chill and read. Monday comes too quick, way too quick. I have a 8:30 am meeting & then a meeting with my insurance agent. Storm did some damage at my house. (OMG! Wait till you see those pictures) :O But is ok, no one was hurt and all can be fixed. Am just glad it wasn't worse. #LookOnBrightSide Anyway, hope you are having a great weekend and you get some time to relax too. Take care and talk soon! It's was a busy and crazy Friday the 13th. No misfortune befell me, but I did witness a wreck down the street from my house. It was just a fender bender, (no one was injured), but still..Yikes! Not letting a little thing like THAT stop me...I finished up at the office and took off at a fast run, (I drove actually) before the office could call me back for just one more thing. It was raining and just being generally bleak as I drove to the next town over. I had a hair appointment and made yet ANOTHER trip to the market. Rick met me after and we grabbed a quick bite and then went to see the new Hobbit movie for the win! :D The weather was still, ugh... And speaking of Crazy people in the stores; I am BACK again, too. Sigh..Being crazy right alone with them. After picking up the last things we needed I just walked around waiting for the check out lines to clear. Spotted a few deals like Gluten Free baking products on sale. Fire ants hurt like the DEVIL! Did you know too many stings can kill a grown man? Yes, they are really bad. :( Your #TexasLesson for the day: Avoid Fire Ants at all costs. :X Now on to more pleasant topics.. I dashed outta there and to Schlotzsky's to meet Rick. Where we gobbled down veggie delights. They were SUPER GOOD & fresh as always. :D I know, I know, don't say it. I'm a cheap date when it comes to food. Guilty. I'm not a foodie and just want to eat and move on to the next thing. He is the same way. #2peasInAPod And the Next thing was the newest installment of the Hobbit. The Desolation of Smaug. I saw online already that the movie had earned $31.145 million on Friday. So I guess you saw it too? LOL It was damn good, right?! We are both Benedict Cumberbatch & Martin Freeman fans, too. So that just made it better. Go watch it now. We enjoyed the movie and it was a great way to spend a cold, rainy evening. :D See you at the airport! Hello, How are things? Hope you are having a good week. Busy here. :) This post was a date I went on last Saturday night. We drove over to Gruene which is in new Braunfels, Texas. Anyway look at the Awesome Sunset. For once I wasn't driving and could take photos! The landmark water tower, lol It was really dark when we arrived, but its a big 2-3 story place overlooking the river. There was a wait except for on upper deck, which we took. Walking through the place was packed with people & staff was in Halloween costumes. Everyone seemed to be in a party mood. :) Which I didn't even bother to look at before we went in. WTF?! I wasn't THAT hungry and figured I could get SOMETHING to eat. Well, umm there wasn't much. The menu was very, very meat heavy. I order the salad below and had to ask them cut the bacon. #F(*K His chicken or something salad. Sorry its so dark, I edited & edited, but it was really dark on the deck. The weather was great and it was packed too, but DARK. * ___ * When we left no one was waiting but it was after 10:00 pm. There was a LOT going on outside. We walked around and listen to 3-4 bands playing outside on club patios. Walking around Gruene at night is safe, it's just mostly dark. Meaning there were no really good picts. #Fail So that was about it. We rode around some and then went back to my house. Exciting much? Are you ready for Halloween? I have been invited to a couple of parties, but ended up having to work. Bummed out. Catch you later-
