Happy Weekend! I hope your doing well and enjoying autumn? I'm traveling today. (Oh how good it feels to be able to write that again!) The weather turned off colder so I went south (again) this time to a new spot... If you missed it, I took a nice 10 day trip last month and uploaded several videos of our stay here and here plus lots of short! So if you don't follow my Youtube channel head over here. We stayed in a lovely holiday cottage and had a very nice time. I'm also working on uploading all the food /recipes from that stay --so stay tuned for those. I promise to write more once we are settled in.
Have a great weekend! Hey and Happy Sunday! I've been talking about my adventures in the State Park... BUT this one takes place in a Cemetery...watch it here: Follow the Youtube channel for weekly adventures!
Hello there, How are you? I'm so glad you stopped by. I'm up late/early working on new videos and book reviews. I have so many ideas and possible directions for those hours and hours of footage I shot in September. What would you like to see? More nature and less talking or more of vlog type posts? Or something totally different? Let me know below. Tonight I plan on putting all these new ideas on paper. Do you have periods where you are super creative and other times when you can't think of a single thing to do? I've noticed I'm usually awake (and creating) more around the full moon. It feels like a big blast of creative energy flowing in and I want to take full advantage of this inspiration. So I stay up way too late and write, paint, edit and make lists. I also tend to try new recipes and cook more. I'm not motivated to do admin work or anything overly analytical during these few days each month. Sadly even journaling falls by the wayside unless its project related. Usually I have more of an issue around finding enough hours in the day to create, vs me looking for inspiration, but lately with us being away from home I haven't felt all that inspired. So I'm going to make another pot of tea and keep at it. It feels so good to be back in the flow!
Have a great weekend and be sure and subscribe to the YouTube channel for all the new adventures~ Hi Friends,
Maybe I should say "Ms One vs Mercury Retrograde" lol. It seems like everything has broken or messed up this week! From lost computers (true story) to misplaced hard drives, to falling on my ass (also true story) this has been a week of weeks. BUT I am hopeful it will all work itself out. Already the skies are clearing and I am finding all that was misplaced, lost or taken by the Fae, Lol. So never fear I will be back shortly with more videos, stories and book reviews. In the meantime you can catch up with me on Youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8mP1O7pHsoGHR7a26K28KA Right, now I'm off to farmer's market. Wish me luck! Back to the beach...
I have my toes in the sand and you can't make me come inside! I promise a proper post soon~ Happy Weekend! How is July almost over?? This summer is flying by and on that subject, I popped into a shop today and was shocked to see the Halloween candy out! OMG! (Insert pumpkin here, lol) As crazy as that was I did manage to only buy one Halloween themed thing.... But before we go there...lets talk about summer reads. I stumbled upon this book: This book is a political action thriller, written by Jack Carr. It's not my typical read, but I think stepping out of your comfort zone and reading other genres is necessary. (After all we can only read so many vampire novels before growing bored, lol!) This is book four in this series and Amazon is developing it into a series starring Chris Pratt. So I did come in late to this party, but.... The Devil's Hand: A Thriller (Terminal List Book 4)
Set in modern day, with tech (I liked) politics (I didn't) this isn't my favorite genre. I do read some spy novels but this feels way too political for my taste. Covid, wine snobs, the author's extremely thinly-veiled political points and other themes I don't want in a book I read for pure escapism. I think for some people this will be a MUST read for the summer, but not for me.
Stay tuned for more reviews! Hello! Hope your summer is going well and you are not melting! It's been really hot here. One of those summers where New Mexico is on fire (seriously) and it's even hotter in south Texas. I stayed at a hotel last week and was chatting with other hotel guests about the heat and one actually said, "Welcome to HELL!" Err, okay. Thanks for that. I drove to the Gulf Coast for a week and it was actually COOLER there than LONDON. WTF? How is that even possible? But enough going on about the weather, I am pleased to share a new book review with you. This week I read The Sentinel a Jack Reacher, novel by Lee Child and Andrew Child. Read on for my quick review. This is book number 25 in the Jack Reacher series. At the time of this writing there are currently 27 novels published and a feature movie (2012) as well as an Amazon series (2022 -?) The Sentinel: A Jack Reacher Novel by Lee Child and Andrew Child
My Last Minute Thoughts:
Its HOT outside... I am currently in south Texas (I came for the heat wave it would seem) and while I was riding the lift with another traveler their parting words were, "Welcome to HELL!" They weren't talking about the hotel (Its okay) the heat though was breaking records... Cooling Lemon and Herb Spritzer
This refreshing spritzer is just what you need on a scorching summer day! It’s bright fruity flavor pairs perfectly with the warm earthiness of the culinary herbs and freshly grated ginger for a truly interesting combination. One taste and this is sure to become a new favorite! Prep time: 15 minutes (+ time to chill) Cook time: n/a Serves: 4 Ingredients 2 T. real maple syrup 1 c. water 1/3 c. fresh lemon juice 2 T. fresh mint, washed and torn into pieces 2 T. fresh basil, washed and torn into pieces 2 t. fresh lemon zest, preferably organic 2 thyme sprigs 2 t. ginger, finely minced 1 large lemon, thinly sliced 2 c. sparkling water Optional Adults-Only Version: 4 oz. vodka Directions:
