![]() Ok, so we ended up ordering Mexican food and staying in most of this weekend. I am still trying to catch up on work and it's a bitch. What can I say? My To Do List is very Long- but- it wasn't all bad. :D I did manage to watch a little True Blood, (with the rest of the world), or so Get Glue tells me. ![]() Follow me on Get Glue if you want, but I'm not one to watch TV so I sux at this. :X (It shows I last checked in 15 days ago. That was probably the last time I watched TV, really.) So as I ate Mexican Food and watched Vampires with my honey & worked over my virus ridden Toshiba. ![]() It was starting OK, then would freeze up within 3 mints and refuse to do anything other than lock up. So After reading on line and trying both things I could think of (thats a joke) I was armed with restore disks. WHICH SUDDENLY WENT MISSING! All I could find were old Dell XP restore disks. (??) And there is much debate on if they would even work... ![]() So I read every tech broad I could find. (From the working MAC, thanks) And found a "Binary” shortcut. It was reported to restore the Toshiba back to factory/out of the box condition with no disks needed. WTF?? The few people who had used this short cut said it worked, so I thought what the hell, the computer has been an expensive paper weight for the last few months anyway... And Guess what? IT WORKED! See? ![]() Now it wiped it clean, I lost everything (But I had backed up on the passport of course). So this was ok. It rebooted and installed all the plug ins and was working again! I virus scanned and now am Deliriously Happy That it is working again. ;D The short cut (and I don't know if it will work on any other computer) was as follows: Turn computer off Press the power button and hold down for 10 seconds Press the 0 key (yes, really) and hold down Follow the instructions and prompts to restore your computer. Now I have only 2 icons, lol But I restored from my passport drive and viola - Working system again!
Please note, I am not a geek tech person, I like technology (as long as it works) but if I can do this so can you...Fix it before you junk it or get ripped off paying $100+ for a f'ing button push. So anyway, thats how I spent most of my weekend. Next post should be about shoes or clothes or Spain or something more fun, huh? Take care! Comments are closed.
