Enjoying the Holidays

How are things?

Hope all is well in your world!  Did you have a nice Christmas? Hope you got everything you wanted and were able to send presents to everyone special in your life. It's really not so much about what you get, but who you can share it with, right? :D


 I'm back in Texas and feeling better day by day. Spoke with Angelica  yesterday & she told me about a girl around the block from her home who just died from the Swine flu. She was super upset, as you can imagine. #ScaryShit

But everything is ok here. I have company for the holidays but it's really low key. Standing up and saying I wasn't cooking (or paying) for everyone for the holidays was the best choice I have made in a very long time. I was able to relax and enjoy the holiday, with no stress!

And I did get to spend some time with baby Layla! She is getting so BIG!

Now that she is walking, I mean RUNNING! There are only action shots of her. :O 
She turned 1 in Nov. & celebrated by starting to run! 
Meanwhile at home...A different kind of adventure,

We have had some plumbing issues. I blame my drunken house guests. LOL

It's not s SUPER BIG DEAL, but right now there is NO WAY to find a plumber. Will have to wait until after Jan 1st.  Luckily I have another shower. :o Or things would be smelly quick! lol
And..

I drove into the city one day for a wee bit of shopping. YEAH!

Snagged a few after Christmas deals. I still look like #ZombieFace but I didn't let that stop me.

My face is still swollen and I look like shit. #FML

Friends are pretending not to notice. Family like "WTF is wrong with your face?? Swollen?? Your eyes like your never slept?!"  Love how family so brutal and honest.    NOT  * _____ * 

Next morning after 8 wonderful hours of sleep I felt well enough to make brunch for everyone.

I made a thing. No, I made french doughnuts. :D Plate 1 of 4, actually!

Because I was missing New Orleans so much! #SAD

This was the REAL DEAL from last week. Sniff

I'm supposed to be creating a photo book for thebirthday girl of this crazy trip. But am waiting on Angelica to send her pictures to me. (Taps foot on ground Impatiently) and Char forgot her camera.  Her phone is a razor or something like that (rolls eyes) so she took no pictures at all.  :(  I have no idea how she even texts on that thing. WTF?

So I guess I will just make do with what I have.
