Hope everyone's having a great weekend. :D We've been out having fun ~ Went to see the new Star Trek movie Into Darkness. :0 & Saturday Dinner at Carino's again + all the usual weekend stuff! There is NEVER enough time on the weekends. So much I want to do- The movie was very good! I will not spoil it for you, (hate that when people do that to me). But will say it was good, we both enjoyed it. I really don't read movie reviews, because most of the time it's all perception (or paid for or pissed off people) so when I took the poster picts (above) I saw a few reviews...ouch. But don't believe them...There is a lot of action, the effects were good without being an entire movie of effects (you know that kind of movie) & acting was good. So if you like Trek or Scifi or Action then go watch it. #intodarkness rocks. I wore this sundress & took a jacket. It's always freezing in Texas movie theaters. WTF?! I know it's hot outside, but come on...when we have to take jackets & blankets inside that's just crazy...:X Meanwhile dinner...Look I actually snapped some picts! Back at Carino's~ His Eggplant Parmesan, which he loved. ![]() -Gruene- And then went to Gruene. http://www.gruenetexas.com/ (if you want to look it up.) Gruene (pron: green) is a former town in Comal County in the U.S. state of Texas. Once a significant cotton-producing community along the Guadalupe River, the economy is now supported primarily by tourism. This is THE PLACE to go to TUBING in South Texas & Gruene Hall is a must if you like live music. Jerry Jeff Walker was playing at Gruene Hall that night, so there was a MASSIVE crowd of people. So we didn't go in this time. ![]() What is this Gruene Hall and why are there water tower pictures? right? Well I cannot take pictures of the building at night because there are too many people in front of it, they cover the front. :( I do have some old picture of the dance hall in the day time, but they are toast or maybe on my twitter pictures. You are welcome to go check, I guess. Anyway just go to their website if you need to see the building sans tourists. Gruene Hall was built in 1878 & is the oldest continually running dance hall in Texas. It is birthplace to many great songwriters and musicians. Including George Strait, Ace in the Hole, Jerry Jeff Walker, Lyle Lovett, Joe Ely, Robert Earl Keen, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Hal Ketchum, Bruce and Charlie Robison, and many more. *According to their website. But there is more to Gruene than the Dance Hall. There are spas, wine tasting, shopping, rafting, restaurants, etc. (I guess I should take some photos in the daytime, huh? Maybe next month.) My NOLA friends are like "such a tourist trap" But I like it. So I don't bring them, when they come to visit. :X lol ![]() Random Night Shot. We were out by the river, but you can't see it...(so you must take my word for it.) It sounds so lovely rushing over the rocks in the still, quiet night. The weather wasn't smoldering so we just wanted to find a place to sit and talk, But as we were standing around listening to the water and looking for a safe place to sit, a truck pulls in and begins to lock the gates, with us inside... So Remembering being locked in a park just last month in New Orleans I suggest that maybe we should look for another exit or follow the truck out...WTF? (I am starting to think it's me, perhaps? Maybe it was a good idea we didn't go down that private air strip *see girls road trip, lol) But this man was was quite nice. Enough so he let us out! :D Yeah! Free again! So we left and went to another town and then home - end of pictures and good night. LOL, ok more as I have time. See ya! Comments are closed.
