During today's walk, I was delighted to see spring emerging in the vibrant blooms of yellow narcissus flowers! These cheerful bursts of color are a heartwarming sign that spring is just around the corner here in the South of England. It's truly a joy to witness nature awakening after a long winter slumber. How about your corner of the world? What does the weather look like? Share your own glimpses of the changing seasons in the comments section and let's all enjoy the beauty of nature.
See you soon~

Good morning! I hope you're doing well as we approach the first weekend of February. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being in the south of England and I captured this photos of the dramatic sunset. The vivid colors reminded me of this beautiful quote: "Sunsets are proof that no matter what happens, every day can end beautifully." - Kristen Butler. I noticed the sunset while I was busy working upstairs. In a rush, I hurriedly made my way downstairs and outside to get a better view, only to find my sight partially obstructed. It re-enforced the lesson that sometimes, we need to be in the right place to fully appreciate the beauty surrounding us. It's also a reminder to slow down and savor life's moments.
Wishing you a relaxed and enjoyable weekend full of beauty ~ Good morning and happy Friday, friends!
It's time for Foto Friday, I couldn't resist sharing this morning's beautiful sunrise. Today: Jan 19, 2024, temperatures are around 11°C (52°F) here in the Atlantic. We have showers off and on, but no storm predicted. #Smoothsailing With approximately 625 nautical miles left to reach Southampton, everyone seems sad for the trip to end. But our journey is just beginning! I have so much planned - I can't wait to share Europe with you~ But in the meantime we are going to enjoy the rest of the cruise. Stay tuned for more updates! Speak soon~ Hope you are having a fantastic day!
Travel is such a bother right now, but luckily my trusty iPhone decided to unearth some memories today and found some lost footage of a visit to Inverness and Culloden. I made a very short video, enjoy!
I have a confession to make...
I miss British Television! I know I say I have no time to do anything, much less watch TV...but who doesn't enjoy sitting on the divan and vegging out to classic tv once in a while? (Especially after a mind numbing day at the office!) And honestly there is nothing better than binge watching Doctor Who as you sip tea and unwind! Lately I've seen something called BritBox on Amazon. Have see seen the adverts too?
Seems now Prime Video Channels are a Prime benefit that lets you choose your channels. Only members can add BritBox and 100+ more channels—no cable required and you can cancel anytime. What a deal! #OMG!
Was this invented just for me? If you haven't watched much British tv then I invite you to give it a try. I think you will be surprised at the acting and the depth of the plots, or the silliness of the comedies. But who doesn't want to have a good laugh? Plus it gets even better, you can try it for FREE for a limited time! Also it's easy to cancel if it's not "your cup of tea." lol Click the link above or the banner on the side and I will put the kettle on and meet you there! Hello, How goes it? October is almost over (insert scream here!) And while it almost feels sacrilegious to even think about Christmas, I am planning out my seasonal shopping and travel this week. I’ve already begun a gift list, started shopping & now its time to decide if we head to the snow or the tropics for the break. In my defense, because I know you’re all reading this post in absolute horror right now, it all started with trying to plan a holiday get away. I know, I should already have the shit locked down. To make it even worse, I have friends planning their 2020 holidays, asking me to rsvp to galas and crap, (damn overachievers!) Meanwhile I'm having trouble planning/committing to dinner tonight. Work has been good lately, but its left me too busy to even leaf through the many vacation advertisements I receive. So lets get planning now, because better late than never. According to CNN (As of last November) the 15 the best places to have a Christmas break are:
11. Salzburg, Austria - Love Austria and never get to spend enough time there. 12. Santa Claus, Indiana - How is it I've never been? 13. Strasbourg, France - Okay, we all know I will pick France. 14. Queenstown, New Zealand - On my list to visit soon. 15. Valkenburg, The Netherlands - Love the Netherlands, so a holiday visit would be cool. What do you think? What is your favorite holiday destination? Are you escaping the cold for a tropical vacation? I enjoy that myself - some years we have gone sailing to the tropics and others we have searched out the Christmas markets in Europe. Still not sure what direction we will go. I'd love to hear your suggestions Then a again, we may stay closer to home this year...
It's Chinese New Year and once again I'm moved to plan a MEGA trip to Asia. I really had hoped to go before 2017, but the whole move to England, then move to New Mexico kind of got in the way. Plus there was that hurricane... I’ve always wanted/planned to sail from California, take in the Hawaiian Islands, then on to Australia, Singapore and end up in Japan. I know that's vague AF and a whole lot of land to cover. I have a friend in Maui I'm gonna spend a week with before moving on to the land down under. I'm trying to allot as much time as I can for exploring there. (2 months? 3 Months?) Then spend six weeks in Japan. And that’s where you come in. Since I have no itinerary, I thought you could help plan my trip. I also need some logistical help: I want to avoid flying and take boats and trains as much as possible. If anyone knows the best routes, please let me know. I want to stay away from the tourist traps and really see Australia and Asia. If you visit here much you know I'm an 'off the beaten path' type traveller. I like to eat local and stay in holiday houses over big hotels. If anyone has traveled through the region this way before, I’d love to hear about your experience and pick your brain for information. You can email me msoneworld4me@gmail.com or leave a comment below and we can chat. The rough plan is to spend 5 months in late 2020 having this amazing adventure. (Why does that sound so far in the future? It's only 2 years away!) While is this a huge trip, with lots of planning I want the pace to be slow and relaxed so that I have time to really enjoy the experience. Lastly, if you live in the region, I’d love to meet up, so leave information on how to contact you (if you want to host my friend and me, that would be super, too!)
I’ve been dreaming of a big Asian trip for many years. Japan has always called to me and there are so many places I want to visit. Who knows what this trip will bring?! Speak soon~ Hi and Happy 2018! Currently in America the weather has gone ape shit bananas...*Yes, that's the technical term. Have you seen all the crazy snow/blizzard/crazy storm picture coming out of the East Coast? I have friends flying in and they have been stuck in NYC for a day already and are unclear if their flight will take off tomorrow or not. They are chill, no pun intended, so they seem to be making it okay. I was digging around on my camera looking for old pictures of us together and found some photos of January 2015. Oddly I didn't post these here. I only did one post for Jan 2015 and it was random crap found on my phone. Life changing it was not...but I am glad for those memories. (Because apparently I am getting Alzheimer, based on the one post "found on my phone"? WTF I was in England in Jan 2015. You would think I would have found something to blog about?) Anyway here are the picture I found on my camera.... (Damn, did I just do it again?) This was taken on a snowy night visit to the Long Meg standing stone circle. It was freezing! It's located at Little Salkeld, Penrith CA10 1NW, UK "Long Meg and Her Daughters is a Bronze Age stone circle near Penrith in Cumbria, North West England. One of around 1,300 stone circles in the British Isles and Brittany, it was constructed as a part of a megalithic tradition that lasted from 3,300 to 900 BCE, during the Late Neolithic and Early Bronze Age.[1] The stone circle is the sixth-biggest example known from this part of north-western Europe,[2] being slightly smaller than the rings at Stanton Drew in Somerset, the Ring of Brodgar in Orkney and Newgrange in County Meath.[2] It primarily consists of 59 stones (of which 27 remain upright) set in an oval shape measuring 340ft (100 m) on its long axis. There may originally have been as many as 70 stones. Long Meg herself is a 12ft (3.6 m) high monolith of red sandstone 80ft (25 m) to the southwest of the circle made by her Daughters. Long Meg is marked with examples of megalithic art including a cup and ring mark, a spiral and rings of concentric circles.[3][4][5] Infra-red aerial photography has identified several undated enclosures that seem to pre-date the Long Meg circle in the area. There is also the smaller stone circle of Little Meg (Maughanby) close by.[6]" From Wiki Hope you are warm and cozy where ever you are.
Sundays are for having fun and exploring, don't you agree? I am so happy to be traveling again! I have already had so many interesting things happen on this trip! You never know who you are going to meet or what adventures you will have. I promise a full post soon as I get settled in. See you at the airport~ Oh, a quick PS But you know, you do not even exist in my world.
Cheers! |
