Look what happened now...
Its still not Halloween -nor does it look like it in the village -
I consoled myself with a bit of shopping.
At 1st it's difficult to understand why anyone would enjoy going to the market every day, but it quickly becomes a past time, not a chore.
That van was full of stuff & the whole seller left the doors wide open while inside the shop making a delivery! That would never happen in Texas, there would not even be a van left.
There really is little to no crime here.
Catch you later~
How are things? Are you deep into all things Halloween? Parties? Ghost stories? Costumes? Cooking up treats? What fun!
Back to life in France.
It has been a bit cooler - but overall great weather. I finally turned on the heaters this week, but we only really need them at night.
There really is no sign of Halloween anywhere in the village.
:( I do miss that. I think we will watch a few horror movies & call it good. Oh & eat too much chocolate of course.
Hope your ready for the all the mischievous events, if your in the states, that is. So what are you Halloween plans?
Catch you later~
I'm attempting old school blogging, from mon iphone. I lost my mind & updated the iso on the ipad & the weebly app will not function. WTF?
But we will make the best of this. I do text a bit, so this is may end up being a long text msg from me, oh lawd!
Err, moving on..
Do you like my fancy Halloween decorations? 👻
The markets sell nothing & there arent in decorations anywhere. I guess I could draw sonething?
If only I knew how...
Do you have big plans for Halloween? I was invited to a party, but dk if Im gonna attend. My French is not that good..
Err, enough of my social phobias..
I really snapped the 1st picture for a viber chat-- a buddy was talking about her ponytail palm & I told her I had one too.
(Vanessa found a site selling wholesale gems from India.) 🎉
I Skype for business meetings & such, too. Its nice staying in the loop & still being able to travel.
Things are progressing & I'm so lucky to be able to work anywhere. I should have new computer parts in soon & the blog should be back on track.
Thanks for still reading my nonsense-
Catch you later-
HI & Happy Weekend-
Sorry I haven’t been posting as much and when I have its mostly been shat. I’m still having computer issues and problems with the Internet. Whine Whine :(
I did a delete /re-install and Dayre is working again. Hurray! But Tumblr is acting up in its place, #WTF?
I wrote a terribly long post on my drunken neighbor and the crap she pulled on Dayre. Read here, but be warned its bad. (Bad as in stupid, not BAD as in bad ass.)
Other than those adventures things have been blissfully quiet. Work has been good and I’m booking more travel (yeah!) Although I do hate to even think about leaving France. Crazy neighbor or not.
I think the drunken bitch upstairs was a lesson to show me just how great my life is. I really have nothing to complain about. As it were, I have worked hard to remove idiotic drama from my life and when it reappears and raises it’s crazy, drunken head I am rather taken aback now. #WTF? (Insert surprised face) "People still act like that? Why? HOW?" IDK…
I am looking forward to the rest of the weekend being chill and stress free. I have about a million pictures to sort and another nearby village to explore, + I promise to work on a decent blog post..
See you at the airport-
Is it cold where you are? Last night a cold front blew in here. As I leaned out the window to close the shutters I looked at the sky. OMG! So pretty!
I snapped this with iphone, no edit, no filter. Just blue. 💙💙💙
Today I went to the market for carrots, it was windy & colder (sweater weather) but thank goodness it will be warmer tomorrow. I'm so enjoying the sunshine here in the south. 🇫🇷
The carrots were for a pot of veggie stew. It turned out wonderful, btw.
And for Dessert...
It's apple pie from the bakery.
That's a XL sized plate, too. The apple pie is made with Croissant dough/crust, stewed apples & powder sugar on top.. It's is wonderful!
Ok, that was my day. How was yours? Alright honestly there were Skype meetings & report reviews too, but I would rather foucus on the pie.
It's almost Halloween! Are you excited? I haven't posted any Halloween pictures because there really aren't any here. But I still love living in the south of France. #BestdecisionEver!
Here is what I have been posting in no kinda order"
Took this one because i love the wrought iron. Delicate iron work is so brilliant. I did a short post here on exploring another small village. Mostly I am just walking and looking at the flowers, the sky and the buildings, then I realize I forgot to eat! Not too many food pictures in my feed lately due to this.
Catch you later-
This is another random and meaningless "roaming around small villages in France" post. I love walking around the small villages, you never know what you will see. Its just a slice of life, I didn't go to any attractions or anything like that. Just walked and looked at the buildings, the mountains and the plants. #Heaven
Pepper Pie from Bakery. #Yums
Have a great weekend -
How are you? I'm good, thanks. Really good actually. Happy and relaxed lately.
I've been thinking a lot about Happiness and what makes us happy? Or unhappy? Is it all really outside of us or is it simply a frame of mind? I took a business class once where we were instructed to list 10 things that made us happy and 10 things that stopped our happiness. The goal was to understand what we wanted and how to reach it. Here are 10 random (and in no particular order) things that currently make me happy.
I bet you didn't see that one coming, huh? Well actually as I have said before I don't really LIKE traveling, I like arriving. I like going new places, seeing new sights and meeting new challenges. So maybe I should have said I like adventure?
I like to create. Drawing, painting, writing, recording, etc. You get the idea. I am happy when I can give myself the freedom to create and my imagination is allowed to run free. Thank goodness I discovered this at a early age and found careers that led me further in this field. I really am unhappy in a restricted job. Happiness is allowing me be creative.
I really like walking. I like to roam around and look at nature, empty fields, cities, etc. It makes my mind and body both happy. It also is linked to #9 and #10. It seems happiness is like that. You find something that makes you happy and you discover other things that make you smile.
I'm not gonna lie, it makes me REALLY happy. With the 'net I can work form anywhere in the world, learn about new places to explore, stay in touch with my friends, order books and food! It's really changed everything and it REALLY makes like so much easier!
Easier life = Happiness.
Finding a Bargain
I don't really like to shop. I like to get what I want and go the HELL home. I like finding bargains on clothes, shoes, tech and fruit. Because I spend most of my money on those 4 things. Finding bargains mean I have more money left for Travel!
I really like shoes. I like high heels, boots, flats, etc. you get the idea. Shoes make me happy, I have no idea why, I just go with it.
Reading really makes me happy. I love the smell and texture of books. As a friends says, "I've never met a book I didn't like." Which may not be true, but I do love books and collect them. I reread favorite books over and over. I also really love finding a great new author. Books are SO MUCH HAPPINESS!
Working makes me happy. I feel productive, I can make money for the things on this happiness list plus I get to make other people happy too. Its a WIN WIN situation.
It makes me happy when I'm done. If I think too much about it before I will not exercise, I somehow will not find the time. So I often have to trick myself into exercising, but during and afterwards I love how my body feels. So thats a love/hate one.
I love plants, trees, flowers, animals, waterfalls, etc. As you can probably tell from the pictures I post on the blog. I like lush tropical areas, also swamps, gardens, wild places, harsh deserts and well any place outside really.
It makes me so happy to be able to just walk around and enjoy nature. I notice when I'm stressed at work the only real cure is to leave the office and go to a park and just chill.
I really don't think my list has changed much over the years. The same things that made me happy when I was younger still make me happy today. What about you?
What makes you happy? I'd love to hear your list.
