We all do love travel quotes, don't we? They get inspired and motivated. I have collected a few here if you want to read more quotes on traveling and here for Rumi quotes. "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” – Mark Twain "Travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living.” – Miriam Beard "All journeys have secret destinations of which the traveler is unaware.” – Martin Buber "The more I traveled the more I realized that fear makes strangers of people who should be friends.” – Shirley MacLaine "Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not." Ralph Waldo Emerson "No place is ever as bad as they tell you it’s going to be.” – Chuck Thompson "All travel has its advantages. If the passenger visits better countries, he may learn to improve his own. And if fortune carries him to worse, he may learn to enjoy it.” – Samuel Johnson “For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travel’s sake. The great affair is to move.” – Robert Louis Stevenson “A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.” – Tim Cahill "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” – Neale Donald Walsch
The life you have led doesn’t need to be the only life you have.” – Anna Quindlen “To awaken quite alone in a strange town is one of the pleasantest sensations in the world.” – Freya Stark "I have found out that there ain’t no surer way to find out whether you like people or hate them than to travel with them.” – Mark Twain "If you reject the food, ignore the customs, fear the religion and avoid the people, you might better stay at home.” – James Michener "Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry, but by demonstrating that all peoples cry, laugh, eat, worry, and die, it can introduce the idea that if we try and understand each other, we may even become friends.” – Maya Angelou "The best education I have ever received was through travel." Lisa Ling "Travel and change of place impart new vigor to the mind.” – Seneca The journey not the arrival matters.” – T. S. Eliot Who else is ready to hit the road? Let's go! I will be traveling this weekend so maybe I will do another 'Full Day' post, and show you what I do when I'm on a road trip.
See you at the airport~ When I first read this on the blog challenge I thought of:
1. Paris (because I always think of Paris) 2. Birthday candles (Because of the wish thing) 3. Shooting Stars (Also make a wish thingy) To be honest I don't wish for much. Just my son and myself to be healthy. I feel we are so blessed with our lives in general. So it made me stop and think what would I wish for? Besides health? Hmmm, I mean I could always use another pair of shoes or more cruises or a petite manison à paris, but who couldn't, right? World peace of course, and a trillion dollars and 888 new clients, but it just goes off the rails there. I start backtracking with what would I do with that much money? Taxes, fees, blah, blah and I can barely manage the clients I have now...add another 888? Are you kidding me? So yeah, I guess I will stick to wishing for health, and more opportunities to travel. What would you wish for today? See you tomorrow for another installment in the blogging challenge. Today's blogging challenge - My Outfit I was off work today, but it was a busy day running errands. I wore a long maxi dress, black sandals and carried a large black vegan bag. The dress is new, easy to care for cotton and very breathable in the late summer heat. I wish I had bought 6 of them! But I never know when buying maxi dresses online if they will be long enough. It is a problem finding a size medium that is the right length. I'm 5'9 and most of it is in my legs, lol. My accessories were kept to a minimum, just a lovely over sized moonstone and silver cuff. My friend that just past away bought it for me several years ago as a birthday gift, making it even more of a treasure. The weather is still unpredictable, but it turned into a nice sunny day. Later that evening we had a lovely dinner with friends on the patio. It was a prefect day! Hope your Sunday was good as well.
Tune in tomorrow for the next random blog challenge post! The blog challenge continues. Read past posts here, if you need to catch up. Today I am sharing 8 things I am currently loving. These are not linked or sponsored. Just my personal finds that I use everyday and love. If you visit here often or follow me on Twitter you know I love tea! And I love trying new organic, eco-sourced products. This month I'm drinking Root Chakra Tea. Buddha Teas are not the cheapest teas, nor the most expensive, but they are some of the best. I want to say I paid about $6.50 for a box? I love this small travel toothbrush from FFF. I picked it up as an add-on and love it! Its compact and super soft. It came with three, instead of two brush heads. I honestly have no idea what I paid, but I know it wasn't over $20-$25? I am also loving the Essential Oxygen organic toothpaste and brushing rinse. I have been using the brushing rinse for over a year, but had a lot of Earthpaste stocked piled. #TrueStory - When I find a product I like I purchase a supply of it. #NOTaHoarder I promise. Once I used it all, I bought the EO toothpaste to try. Now I really love it too. The Toothpaste is only $8.09 on Amazon and the brushing rinse is $10.27. I'm also so loving this Acure scrub and Nelson Hair Mask. I use both while soaking (and reading) in the tub, for a wonderful and relaxing afternoon. The hair mask really helps tame my thick locks and makes my hair super silky. I love all of the Acure products! I finished off my last tube of facial scrub and decided to try this one with Sea Kelp. I'm so glad I did! Also on my list: Pacifica Dreamy Youth Day and Night Face Cream, which I also bought on Amazon for around $15USD. I not sure, but I think that was the subscription price? After using it a week I knew I wanted to try it our for several months, so I quickly added it to my monthly subscriptions. It is amazing and so light weight. In this crazy summer heat you don't want a heavy cream on your face, making you sweat even more. I have been using it for about three months now and am very pleased. It's not greasy at all and is easily absorbed into the skin. + Like all Pacifica products it is cruelty-free and vegan. #WIN My last item is a couple of pens I received in a Sketchbox monthly subscription box. I am drawing more and am so pleased to try out new, professional grade products.
So how many is that?
Join me tomorrow for the next challenge post. And the Blog Challenge continues... We are beginning to get a lot more personal, aren't we? Like most people I have issues that I need to work on... So its time for another random list!
So that was random as fuck. Do you have anything you want to share? I see you reading this, but rarely does anyone comment. I do get personal emails from ya'll and I appreciate the encouragement very much. :D
If you missed any of this random challenge you can click here and see you tomorrow. Where I grew up we didn’t have a proper autumn, so we missed out on a lot of fun fall activities. I’m glad to report central New Mexico has four full seasons to enjoy. #Win! 6 Things I’m looking forward to in Fall: #6 - Boots, Scarves & Sweaters! I do love living in sundresses and shorts, but I also love soft, cozy sweaters and fun scarves. I’m already shopping for new boots to add to my collection. #5 - Hot tea - It just tastes 100 times better in the cooler weather. #4 - Fall Activities - Shopping the pumpkin patches, baking, looking for corn mazes, etc. It’s also a great time to go hiking. The snakes are in for the winter and the air feels so invigorating. #3 - Fall color-Everything and anything is colorful right now. The trees are turning their brilliant shades of orange and yellow. #2 -Weather - It’s not too cold or too warm. Perfect time to be out in nature or sit home with a book. Honestly I love gray, rainy days and the cooler weather so much! Also because the weather has changed you can burn candles again. You may wonder why I said, "Again?" Burning candles with the ceiling fans on sucks. :( #1 - And my favorite part of fall is....Halloween! Tune in tomorrow to continue on the September blogging challenge.
So far, so good, except this challenge is becoming personal very quickly. But I guess thats the point, yeah? Get to know the person behind the writing and all.
These first few posts are more general, but still I think it's what you are willing to share. How personal do you get? What do you want to know and what's insignificant? I'm writing posts for the queue because I will be traveling later in the month. I can hear you thinking, "YEAH! About time!" Trust me, I feel the same way. But in the meantime I will attempt to stay on top of this challenge. If you need to catch up: September Goals Day 2 Blog Challenge Thankful Thoughts Favorite Fashion Trend - Bold Jewelry Are you doing a Challenge for September as well? Let me know. I would love to read your posts! See you tomorrow for: 6 Things I’m Looking Forward To In Fall Today's topic is "Thankful" I really have so much to be thankful for this wasn't difficult at all. Here are a few random thankful thoughts:
What about you? Can you come up with a quick list of things to be thankful for? I bet you can! I think we often forget how lucky we are and take things for granted. But honestly, if you are online reading this, then you too probably have a lot to be thankful for.
Read my progress with this daily challenge here: September Goals and here Fashion Trends and do leave me a comment and tell me what you are grateful for. See you tomorrow for Top 5 Highlights of Summer! My current Favorite Fashion Trend: Bold Jewelry 2017 was all about dainty, feminine jewelry, which I still love, but this year’s jewelry is BOLD! Think oversized earrings, large pendants and chunky, statement bracelets. This is where you can have a lot of fun and spice up any old outfit! I tend to collect big statement pieces over tiny, delicate styles, that is except for earrings. Why not BOLD earrings too? Well, since 90% of the time I wear my hair down, big earrings don't work. You can't see them and also they tend to get caught up in my hair. 🙂 The one time I did wear my hair up and I was kicking myself for not buying the matching earrings to go with my necklace. Do you purchase sets or just buy random pieces you love?
