Hey, How's your week going? Good I hope. This is more of mine & Sally's adventures in Luling, Texas. Read more aboutHERE andHERE. This is another Picture heavy post mostly of me walking around outside at this park area. If your not into nature you might want to skip it. The above picture is us looking for the park, we found some REALLY nice houses on the way to the park.. lol Then we found the Park. That's it for this.. I still have 100 + photos but everyone and his dog NEEDS me right now...I have had 30 calls & even more texts in the last 2 hours so I guess I better get back to work. Take care and talk soon! Hi, This continues from this & this post. We did a little window shopping in downtown Luling then went over to see the park. And the fun continues... Sally was attempting to convince me to stand up on the truck to take these pictures. * ___ * "Once known as “the toughest town in Texas”, Luling was established in 1874 as the far western stop of the Sunset Branch of the Southern Pacific Railroad. The developing importance of the town as a cattle-raising center, combined with the importance of the railroad as a shipping point, allowed the town to grow and prosper. Being the northern terminus of a freight road to Chihuahua, Mexico added to its stature. As the cattle drives to the railroad head decreased, Luling survived by turning to its rich soil and hardy folk. Luling came to be known throughout the region as an agriculture center with cotton, corn, and turkeys as its principal products. Cotton ruled the local economy until the momentous year of 1922. On August 9th of that year, Edgar B. Davis’ Rafael Rios No.1 blew in, opening an oilfield 12 miles long and 2 miles wide. The Rios No. 1 proved to be a part of one of the most significant fields discovered in the Southwest. Thousands of oil field workers descended upon the little community. They filled every available room and constructed a tent city, called Rag Town, along the railroad tracks. By 1924, the field was producing 11 million barrels of oil per year." Taken from Wiki Next post will be the last on Luling. I really wanted to fit it all in this one, but internet is throwing a fit. :( Take care & talk soon! This is a PICTURE HEAVY POST of the Farmer's Market. My friend Sally went with me on a pumpkin buying adventure. Sally was in town today & called me from her office. She wanted to meet up for lunch. But I had just finished the above breakfast tacos, so no lunch. Was stuffed, but I was headed to the Farmer's Market in Luling, (Texas) and asked if she wanted to come with. So about an hour later we were off.. Driving along on the way to the Market. (Quick Iphone Vid) The Farmer's Market is year round. During fall it has one of the largest selections of pumpkins in the state. So we roamed around Luling for a couple more hours. For more info on Luling click here. More Luling adventures in next post! Talk soon- Hi from Texas, This was taken in Luling on a recent afternoon trip. I promise I will do a full, proper post on this lovely park shortly. Right now my internet is acting up so thought I would post this video before it is lost. To read more of this adventure click here. For more information on Luling, Texas click here. More shortly- Hey, How are you? Enjoying your weekend? Hope so. :D This week has mostly been about work. Boring! (Did you just read that in Homer Simpson's voice?) :o Here is a quick post of some random, randomness of these past few weeks. While I was waiting at the bank. The sun light shinning on the bricks was really dazzling & shadows were making cool patterns. Just trust me, it looked cool. I want to sketch it later so I snapped a photo for reference. Plus the sky looks nice too, don't you think? Thats pretty much the TRUE color that day. No filter needed. Taken while I was at a stop sign one day last week, I think? Also please to see the temp showed nicely on this one. :D And To share the newest color of my hair, (in that never ending drama of late.) I took a self shot, with the rather shitty iphone front camera. What do you think? Very grainy, right? I really have no idea what THE HELL the cat is doing...or how she got between me and the phone?! ^ . . ^ #WTF?!? Moving on.. It's a little early, but I may not see them for Halloween, so must be ready. I did put things besides candy in the bags too. Always fun shopping for them. I was wearing it while packing the bags & trying hard not to eat any/all the candy. #Fail
And I will leave you with this... Hey, Happy Friday! We made it to the WEEKEND! Yippe! It's been a good week, damn sight better than last week, for sure. I have been super busy with work and haven't posted many pictures, but here's what made it to Instagram & twitter pictures - in no kind of meaningful order, lol: It has been cooler and raining this week. Which is SUPER Fabulous so that is the "theme of choice" lol 1.Rain, Rain & More Rain. Yeah!! 2. And in between the rain showers I was outside working (Yes, really) looked up and saw this smiling face. I actually took that crappy cell pict to text to my neighbor. He sent back it wasn't his basset hound, but he knew who he belonged to. He was then reunited with his family. :) Not that I minded the company. You know the cats are just so judgmental..lol And.. 3. These were from the Sept. VeganCuts box. They were good. Not great, but good. They would be awesome dipped in almond milk. But then again everything is awesome dipped in Almond milk, right? 4. Fresh pineapple was on sale at the market. I think it was under a $1.00?? #WTF? So that was lunch one day! :D I planted (ok, I actually threw) the top in a flower pot to see if it would root. Meanwhile it looks interesting, lol *Inspiration strikes* Perhaps a picture for this week. And I am still trying different flavors of Bolthouse Farms drink. This was pretty good. What do you think? Do you have a fav? And.. This was/is me ...at home...feet up and chillin. :) 78' is very pleasant after 111'F! This was one of the colors my hair was these past few weeks. Ugh! It's yet different today. I really dislike having to break in a new stylist. I wanted to go darker brown, got bright red instead. #FML so then went to darken & got this red, blonde, gold mix. Looks dark brown to you, right? * ___ * And also under RICK PISSES ME OFF Rick has started (again, after us having this discussion) leaving things at my house. Small stuff, but it adds up and if I am not careful his skinny (yet toned) ass will be living with me. NOT And Taking a deep breath and moving on to happier things: Here is a wee bit more.. 5. Someone showed up with this at WORK! WOW! 6. I do love books. Lately I have been meeting people who recommend EVEN MORE books I should read. *New Kindle on the way! :D And.. Going over my notes for work, travel and the blog. I am very deep into planning the next couple of trips and feel the pressure now. Trying to find a travel route that works with my tiny budget. :O But on the other hand, there are so many amazing deals out there. It just takes time & imagination. Confident well get best deals EVER. And France here we come! :D Ok, thats it for now. I am going out this weekend, so look for blurry food pictures and other 1/2 ass on the go updates. lol Catch you later- Hey, How are you? It's a lovely rainy day here in South Texas. I have been working most of the morning (On actual work, ahem) and found time to do a quick post. :D I am often asked "HOW DO YOU DO IT?" IT = travel, own your business, be your own woman. Well it's this pack I made a long time ago with this crazy guy with horns... Naw, Not really. JK :O (Scared the Christians, now feels bad...) Moving on...It's nothing easy like that. Mainly it's hard work and lots of it. The rest is believing that it's ok to try and try again and not give up. For me it's about hard work, focus & learning every single day. I found this online and thought I would share: There isn't a magic formula, but surrounding yourself with good, encouraging people who share the same vision as you do, helps too.
I have a lunch meeting today so am off now. Take care & let me know what you do to become focus and move forward, ok? I would love to hear new/more ideas! :D Hey, Whats up? I was trolling Tumblr when I saw the above image. I was like, "It's not just me!" Someone else suffers from my disease! :/ What is Chronic Bitch face? It’s your resting/normal face. It’s not a full on grimace by any means, but its not a "I want to ride pink *unicorns brimming with happiness, oozing rainbow sprinkles everywhere & I smile like a drunken idiot" face either, like some women look when they are listening to airline safety lectures. WTF?! How they so excited about shit ALL THE TIME? Smile, Smile, Smile. WHAT?! Prozac? Meds? What? Speaking of meds--*I’m ok with unicorns, if your 12... Anyway, back to the disease, your normal face looks bitchy/pissed off as hell, all the TIME. You don't FEEL that way, but you are cursed to look like it. Which means: your friends have to except it, you have to live with looking like shit in most pictures and it makes dating EVEN harder. Example of Bitch face and a 1st date: #TrueStory
I’m on a date having fun, when new guy (possible love of my life) And terminal cutie turns to me and says, in a some what concerned voice, “What’s wrong? Why are you so unhappy?” I’m like "What? I am happy?" (Insert fake smile to make the situation worse) he shakes his head and worries the rest of the night..So I work hard at “looking” like I am HAPPY (when I was BEFORE.) Now I have had to plaster a crazy/fake smile on my face to reassure HIM I am having fun and that’s NO FUN. So by end of the evening he is unsure of how the date went & I am too exhaust to ever see him again. WTF?! I am not going to be in a relationship with someone so needy I have to pretend I’m happy, EVEN if I am happy. Ok, that was kinda crazy, right? But you get the picture. Do you suffer too? Suxs doesn't it? I have to go to work now. I have a meeting and my chronic bitch face will come in quite handy. Catch you later- “Sometimes it's not enough to know what things mean, sometimes you have to know what things don't mean.”
― Bob Dylan Hi, Hope you are enjoying your weekend. Busy at being lazy here! :D Remb I posted this picture of the September's VeganCut box? Dylan and I divided up the food the day it arrived. He got the Meatless Tuna. (I got the fruit/raw stuff!) But I must admit I was intrigued by the meatless tuna. I don't eat fish and haven't in many, many years so tuna anything (even meatless) was not in my realm of possible. #WTF?!? Dylan on the other hand, eats fish and was excited. Also I should note I don't buy tuna anymore. It seemed wise to stop supporting this from the point of safety of the product to the issue of the dolphins. So I think he was excited that he would get to sample this product. I am sure he was missing tuna. :( So next day he informed me was going to "cook" it. I was shocked, as I am sure he doesn't know the microwave from the washing machine. #TrueStory So I grabbed my phone (for picture taking and to call the EMS if needed) and followed him into the "small room with the dishes". See his adventures below. Once he stopped playing around (See picture of can on bread, lol) I asked to smell the meatless tuna. He let me try it before he mixed it with vegan mayo. It smelled fishy, to me, but not strong like tuna. I took a fork and ate a piece and it tasted close enough to real tuna that my brain screamed, "NO! IS FISH DO NOT EAT! STOP!!" :X He tried some at this point and said the same. He liked it and then mixed a rather plain tuna salad. (Plain as in just mayo/tuna.) I'm glad I got that taste, because he ate the entire can. #GrowingBoy His rating: "Excellent, please buy some." My rating: I could not eat it because it seemed & tasted "too fishy" for me. (How do they do that without fish???) I would also recommend serving it to non-vegan friends. Like the veggie hotdogs, it would be something good to keep on hand to feed children when company drops in or a quick snack for teens. I shall buy for Dylan, esp. now that he can cook! LOL :D Alright I have to find something to eat now...that made me hungry. Catch you later- |
