Ready, Set, Jet!

My current Favorite Fashion Trend: Bold Jewelry 2017 was all about dainty, feminine jewelry, which I still love, but this year’s jewelry is BOLD! Think oversized earrings, large pendants and chunky, statement bracelets. This is where you can have a lot of fun and spice up any old outfit! I tend to collect big statement pieces over tiny, delicate styles, that is except for earrings. Why not BOLD earrings too? Well, since 90% of the time I wear my hair down, big earrings don't work. You can't see them and also they tend to get caught up in my hair. 🙂 The one time I did wear my hair up and I was kicking myself for not buying the matching earrings to go with my necklace. Do you purchase sets or just buy random pieces you love?
Something Your Proud of Accomplishing Recently
Hmmm, I had to think on this one… I’m proud of a lot of stuff.
What are you proud of this week? Let me know in the comments section below. And see you tomorrow for “Favorite Fashion Trend” OMG Where do I start? My Goals for September are pretty ambitions. Because of course, I have my business goals, (for my day job), my blog goals and my travel goals. My travel goals are ALWAYS ambitions, lol. Plus my normal monthly goals: Walk 10,000+ steps a day, eat better, make art, spend more time with my son, world peace, etc. When people start to understand how much I have going on, they seem amazed. I’m often ask how I get as much done as I do? My short answer is I stay organized and set goals. Without clear monthly goals I personally, wouldn’t get anything done. Are you a goal setter too? BIG SEPTEMBER GOALS
February I sucked it up and hired more help. Since then I have hired two more people and things are really shifting now. Honestly, I should have done this last year, but somehow I convinced myself I didn’t have time to train them. Sure… SMH Both of these new lifesavers are ambitious and productive. They are assets to my business and are helping me remember why I do what I do again. These angels are also allowing me time to step away from the office and breathe. This is making work enjoyable once more and not the life sucking, black hole of deadlines and never-ending paperwork it had recently turned into. #AnotherTrueStory So with this new found time on my hands I committed to going to bed, (most nights) at a reasonable hour. I usually always woke up early, but now I don’t feel like I was hit by bus! I started a practical morning routine to help me stay motivated and plan out my day. I now have time for yoga, plus a morning walk and time to make a leisurely breakfast and visit with my son. Plus with the extra sleep I feel so much better. Now when I’m at work it’s pleasant and even enjoyable again. This also helped me get to the bottom of what and why I procrastinate on some projects and not on others. I farmed out the tasks that make me crazy and got those stuck projects moving again! #Win Another big change in my professional life was I stopped taking on ‘all things’ offered to me. I also got picky with my clients. I don’t except everyone who contacts me. If I know we aren’t a good fit I refer them to someone else. With these simple changes I only commit to new, worthwhile projects that lead towards my goals. I stopped overthinking and listened to my gut/heart on this and freed up so much energy! Then a total miracle happened… I actually have time to travel again! #WTF?! Which leads me to the another BIG Goals for the rest of 2018 - 2. Plan More Trips!
I want to plan at least one trip every other month and one or two small, weekend get aways on the months I’m not leaving the state. This gives me something to look forward to and feeds my wanderlust in a productive way. If I don’t plan out days off, they just won’t happen and I need up burned out from over working. 3. Blog Everyday Another goal for September is to blog everyday. Some posts are gonna be short and sweet and some are mini novels, lol. I actually have over ten finished and queued up waiting to post. So do come back visit this silly little blog again soon. (Who knows, there might even be a new post up?) Do you set goals? How do you stay motivated and on track? I’d love to hear. Working for yourself and being a parent is taxing. Honestly keeping lists and setting goals are the only way I can survive. See you at the airport~ Since I seem to write a weeks worth of posts and then drift off for a month, (true story) I thought I would try a blogging challenge. After searching online for a bit I found this one from 2014. It seems like one I will actually stick with. The prompts aren't too crazy and might even be interesting to both write and read. What do you think? If you are up for the challenge too, leave me a link to your blog in the comments section. I'd love to read your take on these subjects. Ready, set, blog! Are you on board for a raw August? Let’s go Raw together! The month is almost half over and it gets simpler every day to eat only raw! If you haven't started yet, that's okay too. Even just replacing one meal a day will help you. The best part of Rawgust for me, is all the great choices we have..so many fruits and veggies are in season! I have just finished the shopping today, having so much fun in the produce section of the market. Only buying fruits and veggies makes for a faster and more pleasant experience too! People complain that organic fruits and veggies are expensive, but when you are not buying other items (like cola, bread, cheese, etc.) you see that a $100USD buys so MUCH Goodness! And Speaking of Goodness... Did you know one serving of blueberries contains almost 25% of your daily requirement of vitamin C? Vitamin C is necessary for growth and development of tissues and promotes wound healing. #WIN Blueberries are also high in manganese. Manganese helps the body process cholesterol and nutrients such as carbohydrates and protein. So eat your blueberries! Oh and thank goodness Cherries are in season too!
A few people have asked me what the hardest thing to give up was...Without a doubt it was coffee! I eat pretty good most days, usually enjoying at least one raw meal a day so going fully raw was pretty simple, except for no coffee. That's right NO COFFEE! We are 13 + days into the month now and I really don't miss it all that much. (But I'm not going to lie..the beginning was tough!) But enough about coffee-- Many Veggies are also in season right now. So there is no excuse...we have HUGE selections of flavorful options to graze through, lol. It seems odd that greens taste so good as raw wraps, but simple is sometimes best. I just cleaned out the leftover peppers, onions and added mushrooms/tomatoes for a killer supper wrap. And did I mention how wonderful I feel?
OMG I have so much energy and feel so good! How about you? Are you doing the raw challenge too? I'd love to hear what you are experiencing. See you at the Farmer's Market~ Happy August! It's that time again - time for a raw month to cleanse and detox! Are you ready? To be honest I try to eat at least 5-7 raw meals a week, so this isn't that big of challenge, it is much more challenging to give up the coffee! It is now Day 5 and I feel soooooo good! Don't get me wrong, I don't think Morning Star foods are bad for you - especially compared to the "real" burgers out there. But you don't want to live off them either. It's a good idea to give your body a break from everything, once in a while. If you are unsure as what to what to eat... I will attempt to post more of what I'm eating this month...
I'm taking a week off from work for my birthday, although the fun has already started, lol and so many good things are happening! Look for more blog posts soon! See you at the airport~ This challenge is going on and on, isn't it? It would probably be better if I had actually done one post per day, as it states in the instructions, but who wants to follow the instructions? lol So where did we leave off? Day 25 - Inspiration: I really like this. It sums up how I feel, we have to be a voice for those that cannot speak for themselves, whom ever they are, wherever they are. I'm talking about the children, the animals, people denied freedom and of course the disenfranchised. If we don't help them, who will? We all have so much and take it for granted. I think traveling teaches so many life lessons. Day 26 - Healthcare:
I do use other beauty products but I don't consider them health related. Day 27 - A fresh start: Moving from south Texas to New Mexico was my fresh start. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Change is scary, moving is scary, starting over is scary, but it also is so freeing! Honestly, I ask myself why I waited so long? Sometimes you have to move on and get away from toxic people and situations. There comes a time when you must face your fears and just do it! Day 28 - Dreams do come true! Visiting Iceland was a dream come true! It was so awesome! But honestly my life is pretty much a dream come true. I am so grateful! I'm grateful for my job and the ability to travel, too. So much good is happening in my life. I feel so blessed and thankful, which actually is why I began this challenge. :D Day 29 - Internet: This is a tricky one. I don't suppose you want to see a picture of my router? So internet, hmm. I received a text from T-Mobile telling me welcome to Iceland! You have free unlimited texts, 2g internet and .20 a minute for calls. It was amazing to be able to get calls from the US and UK! Day 30 - Wisdom: And suddenly we are done with the 30 day challenge ~ (Okay, at last!)
Thank you for reading! I would love to see your take on this challenge. Leave me a link in the comments or send me a link to your list. See you at the airport~ So, let us continue the 30 day challenge. If you want to read past post click here. Where did we leave off? #21 Something that has stood the test of time? The mountains, OMG The Mountains! I love the mountains so much. They are always changing, but have definitely survived the test of time. If you follow me on SnapChat then you know I take pictures of the mountains, (dormant) volcanoes and "hills" almost daily! I'm so grateful I am able to live here in their shadow. #22 Cool Weather appareal: #23 A bright sunshiny day: Well, thats most days in New Mexico. Although lately it has been overcast and raining. (I love it!) #24 A gray, overcast day: #25 Stop and smell the flowers or anything from nature: Thank goodness, only 5 more to go!
Continuing on the "30 Day Challenge"~ Were did we leave off? (If you want to see more of this Challenge Click here) Day 17: A Colour - Hmm, This one is tough, too. I like colour. I like bold, strong colours that liven up spaces and create moods. I don’t have a “favorite” colour per say, as I like different colours for different things. Right now I’m all about dark cobalt blue for the new house. I’ve had this set of large, glass vases for many years and no where to really display them. I love how the house has so many interesting areas and angles, the eye is continuously drawn up. I also like to use this colour all over the house. It’s so pretty when sprinkled around as accents, glass items or pottery. And of course it's lovely on handpainted lamps! Love, love, love them! I also have Deflt Danish pottery on my list of “must buy” for this summer’s Europe trip. I so regret not purchasing any when I was last in Norway, but I had no time to arrange shipping to the states. Day 18: A Luxury - My whole life is a luxury, lol! If I had to narrow it down I would say the garden tub. It’s a luxury to take long soaks (with organic bubble bath) in front of the fireplace on a cold night. And also please note it is NOT the same fireplace as in the lounge. They are both 2 sided fireplaces, giving me instead of two, but four views of the fire. A big luxury I love. Look at those bubbles! :D Back view :D Picture below is the 2nd fireplace in the downstairs lounge. Day19: A Piece of Equipment: Since we are staying with the house theme…. Day 20: Something that has made your life easier: My “Apple” Collection of course! These items make my life so much easier. I am able to travel and stay in touch with my family and work. I am able to produce more, sell more and stay connected to my clients because of all the tech. These items allow me to live my life on my terms, not chained to a desk.. And of course the trusty iphone. How did we ever live without these??
I think that's enough about me for today. Is anyone else trying this challenge? I'd love to read your responses, so let me know. Catch you later- Okay lets see what the next few days were supposed to be on this challenge. Day 13 - Your Drink of choice: Oh fuck! I'm boring as they come! Okay on to Day 14 - a delicious meal: As a Vegan this is a no brainer. Everything I eat is delicious! But fresh, made to order Nice Cream is one of my favorite breakfast meals. This is banana, peanut butter cacao with walnuts and coconut and it tastes AMAZING! Day 15 - A delicious dessert: So many goodies, so little time! But actually this one is easy too. Pictured is a large homemade vegan Reese's peanut butter cup. It may not look all that good, but it tastes AMAZING! It is SUPER simple to make and has no sugar or artificial ingredients at all. We never buy candy EVER. I made Vegan Fudge, Pies, Candy, etc. There are so many great recipes on line and I even post my recipes here too. Hit the “Vegan” Tag on the left if you want to know more.
But I’m telling you, there is no reason to eat crap food. None. Catch you later- |
