Happy Monday Travel Fam! It's a cold, rainy Monday in New Mexico. But cheers to that Monday productivity grind! (☕️ And to extra tea!) As an entrepreneur — I basically work all the time, but when you love what you do, does it really feel like work? There’s something so satisfying about finishing projects, and seeing happy clients that it doesn't really FEEL LIKE WORK. I feel so blessed to live life on my terms, to set my own schedule and be my own boss. It hasn't always been easy, but I wouldn't trade this adventure for anything!
I’m so thankful for each of my clients and the opportunity to pursue what I love! Happy Lazy Day, Travel Fam!
Can you believe we are closing out another decade? It's going to be a new year soon and I'm taking a day off to be lazy and reflect on 2019. It's been a year of years, for sure! So much has happened that I never expected! I don't know about you, but I'm feeling so optimistic about the next decade! Have you felt the shift? It seems like things are finally falling into place and all that hard work is paying off. I'm so happy to be working on amazing new projects as we end the year/decade and take my art to the next level! Can't wait to see what 2020 brings! Today I wanted to talk about two things I love...art and flowers. In Chinese Art chrysanthemums are part of what is known as "The Four Gentlemen" or "The Four Noble Ones". They are one of four plants used to mark the seasons. The other three are: Plum blossom, the orchid and the bamboo. You will find these plants in traditional ink and wash painting from the beautiful 'bird and flower' paining category of Chinese Art in most museums or collections. These colorful plants represent the four different seasons (the plum blossom for winter, the orchid for spring, the bamboo for summer, and the chrysanthemum for autumn). The four are used to mark the seasons through the year in art and decorating. Now you know the story of the "Four Gentlemen" and why we are drawn to these colorful flowers.
Do you have any art or arraignments featuring these refined plants? |
