Bluebonnets, Indian paintbrushes, red poppies, purple tansy, ox-eyed daises and wine cup flowers bloom throughout the spring in Texas. The downside is spring only last a few hours, lol. Actually that is a brief exaggeration...the flowers usually last from March through mid-May and vary from year to year based on heat, rain and other weather conditions. When they do appear Texas natives flock to the Hill Country and surrounding areas to photograph them and celebrate spring. They came early this year. I was surprised at the big yield of flowers at my place in south central Texas. I did a quick video of the Indian Paintbrushes and occasional bluebonnet and managed to catch a few butterflies. People were out taking pictures as I shot this quick video as the weather is still really nice. If you want to enjoy the flowers just remember, the bluebonnet the state flower of Texas and it's illegal to pick. If its your first time in the Texas wildflowers beware of snakes and fire ants, but do enjoy the burst of color while it lasts.
Speak soon~ Spend a calm day with me as I unpack, unbox a vegan chocolate box and just relax.
Have a great weekend my friends! Happy Weekend! I hope your doing well and enjoying autumn? I'm traveling today. (Oh how good it feels to be able to write that again!) The weather turned off colder so I went south (again) this time to a new spot... If you missed it, I took a nice 10 day trip last month and uploaded several videos of our stay here and here plus lots of short! So if you don't follow my Youtube channel head over here. We stayed in a lovely holiday cottage and had a very nice time. I'm also working on uploading all the food /recipes from that stay --so stay tuned for those. I promise to write more once we are settled in.
Have a great weekend! Hey How Are You? It's still warm for December here. Perfect weather to spend the day with me as I run errands and spend some time visiting a new park. This was a pretty chill day. I did a few errands and then relaxed in a pretty park by the river.
Have a great weekend! Hi,
I hope you are well and spending some time doing what you love. My latest vlog from my November trip just went live. It was a working holiday and I really strived for a work/life balance during that trip. So mostly its a pretty chill adventure - I did bake a bit and managed to have some fun, lol Do you struggle with finding balance between so much work and having time to actually just have fun? Let me know how you handle it. Speak soon~ Hey and Happy Sunday! I've been talking about my adventures in the State Park... BUT this one takes place in a Cemetery...watch it here: Follow the Youtube channel for weekly adventures!
Hey there! I hope you are enjoying the changing seasons? We are spending as much time outside as possible, fitting in activities before the weather turns off cold and wet. Plus, after the terrible summer heat it feels fantastic to be outside without melting! Last month I explored a Texas state park (watch Video here) and in late October I was excited to go back again and camp. For this trip we rented a rustic cabin inside the park. It included beds, mini fridge. microwave and water on a tap outside. It was a short walk to the bathrooms and because we went on a Wednesday we had the park almost to ourselves. Watch the video here: I think this was just what I needed. I've been feeling so overwhelmed with work and other projects that a nature break really reset my energy and creativity. But I returned home so inspired! I often forget how relaxing it is to be away from all our devices! We saw so many birds, deer and other wildlife and the weather was perfect!
Unfortunately, we didn't do as much as planned, but it was so great to be in nature and get away from everything. I can't wait to go back! See you at the airport! |
