![]() Happy Friday People! And how did it get to be the end of MAY? What the HELL? This year is almost 1/2 OVER?? Wow! So how are your New Years Resolutions going? I'm really trying hard to stick to mine. The Eat better/exercise seems to be the hardest. It's tough when working such odd hours. Ok, thats just an excuse, I know. *sigh* So this was a Meh week, my big shopping loot was new set of tires. And I did book a trip for Las Vegas...later in the summer, :D Under Happy Surprise found in Closet News -LOL I ventured in to look for missing tops and found this small shoebox wedged behind some books. I vaguely remember getting these in one of those "I don't believe it" sales at the end of last summer. Yeah! Shoes are good! I just saw this on the BBC: 10 reasons why so many people are moving to Texas (Hopefully working link) if not: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-22649624 As a friend just said to me last night," IF you HAVE to live in TEXAS make sure it's Central Texas." LOL Come see the state and you will understand. :) Lord knows that's all the stuff I talk about, right?
*Note Central Texas is shown on the map picture....see? Anyway, go read that and skim through the comments, LOL Texas does seem to get people "fired up." hee hee :X Speaking of misunderstood.. There was a guy riding a horse down my street yesterday (Yes, in town and Yes its not that uncommon) I almost took a picture to post, but it was just so cliche...lol ![]() Ok, I will admit there are some things I have no problem updating/changing and others, well "NO! Never." She says, kicking and screaming. I will not change it! *Case in point my avatar - the beating earth gif. People advise me I should put a picture (of something ) & update it and blah, blah), NO! I like it & it stays. ok? and now I have a small one for the website do you see it? Look up there. In front of http://www.msoneworld4me.com/ See? I worked hard to find/make things like that.. *shy* but really...Don't you think it's cool too? *--* Anyway... There is something I did change.. Gucci is super awesome, OMG! This is WOWOW or at least it is on me. It's not new, but I just recently discovered it. (Because as I said, I don't go changing my perfume often.) I think your perfume should be a signature thing. Although things smell different on different people too, but you don't want to smell like everyone else, do you? I know I don't. :( This is sleeve, bottle & 1 sealed pkg. The bottle itself is the plastic red box. I really like that too. IDKW? But it seems to fit. Now, I only wear this on dates or days off. I don't wear it to office. Its strong and it's mmm how do I say this? It makes men notice you? You understand? They seem to really, really like it. So I don't want my business meetings to get weird. So I stick to my old work stand by. And I don't wear it when I travel - because I already have creepy guys following me. See blog entry on Rules of Travel, lol I really like to wear Japanese Cherry Blossom from Bath & Body works. It's affordable and they make EVERYTHING in the line. I have even seen shampoo. (?) Really.. This was just a few things I gathered before I got bored. I have MUCH, MUCH more. I was kind of surprised I had this much stuff really? WTF? When did that happen? Photo you can see, lol It smells good and leaves me feeling very clean. People always complement me on this too. Perfect for work and after.
Ok, I better get back to work now. I'm not sure why I am so tired. :( Laters- "The traveler was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes 'sight-seeing.'"
Daniel J. Boorstin ✈✈✈✈✈✈ ![]() I worked yesterday and everyone else was off..so I worked today in the a.m. till 11:00 and called it a day! (I got a lot done, trust me.) Anyway, went to meet Ms Y for lunch in New Braunfels. It seems like we are there all the time, but she and I had not been able to meet for over 2 months now, WTF?! (I only know this because my iphone told me so.) So off we go to Mamacita's for mostly the cheesecake. We both ordered Quesadillas and took them home for supper, lol. As we drove back we went touring around the countryside... LOL --But it was fun to just do nothing... Been trying to change the headers up on the website. They are not what I want yet. (But don't really know what I do want?? ..and that is the problem.) I made this, but it doesn't fit *size wise* so couldn't use it, But thought I would try it here to see if the animation will work...So does it?
Ok, So thats all for now..I have to run....really. That lunch blew my diet! Later- ![]() Hi, If you are in the United States then you probably have the day off today. Because It's Memorial Day. (Which is a federal holiday which occurs every year on the last Monday in May.) Memorial Day is a day of remembering/honoring the people who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. (It used to be called D Day.) It started after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union & Confederate soldiers who died in the Civil War. Now Memorial Day honors all Americans who have died while in the military service. People put flags on the graves, listen to speeches and visit family. Its actually a pretty sad day. No one comes to work in my office, but me, today. They all have the day off. If you don't have family or friends to honor then you stay home and Bar-B-Q or go to the lake. As this also kicks off our summer season. Meaning from here on out it's going to get warm. Really Warm. Oh Joy. * _____ *
Ok, I have to get back to work now. The ac is already running. sigh Please enjoy your day off. Catch you later~ ![]() Hello Again! Am continuing on with the Saint Gervais Trip of Aug 2010. (My How time flies!) I hope the uploader with cooperate today. We stayed in a typical chalet. It was very quaint (see pictures below) I really enjoyed being there. You know people always say the air in the alps is wonderful..well thats true! Some people stay year round, others are just enjoying the great off season discounts. I think there was a pool? Maybe? Sorry don't recall. :( Most Gites in France come with books and board games! Because you know about French TV, right? We ate a lot of simple food outside on our picnic table. It was SO GOOD. So Fresh and so flavorful! Mouth is watering now... I almost forgot pictures of the church in the village. I love old buildings of any kind. Good Night.
Ok thats all I found so far of our week in Saint Gervais, France. Sadly there were sooo many more pictures. :( Am working on a Bath, UK post next! Till then- I am soo happy! It almost makes up for the pain I'm feeling in buying new tires, WTF See I've been having this horrible problem with my iPhone. So when I first got my phone, I got it from Sprint. And this lovely Malaysian woman was trying to help me set it up over my home phone. Now I have had Nanos and iPods but I never had an iPhone and please to understand the phone is much more smart than I am. :X So, 1st set up of the phone we had to log into the Internet and I couldn't remember my Wi-Fi password at the house because I never have to log in. So, I finally got the password and login and then she was having me set up an account. And I ask,"OK should this be my iTunes account or different account name and login?" She said it should be different. "Oh, okay?" So I'm typing as fast as I can on this little key brd on phone and "God I typed in the wrong thing! it won't let me login because instead of typing .com I typed .CPN!! Help!" Well, bless her heart- she didn't know how to remove it and she said "that's fine you can fix it later. Hurry up let's go get you set up" so okay alright & on to the rest of the set up. So years later here I am & still cannot pull up anything on the phone. Because I cannot verify or log in to ITUNES ! :X The way I've been moving stuff around and updating is going to iTunes and then stuff gets stuck to my iPad & I'm pretty sure that there's explosions & fires too. It's like that BAD. Half the time it doesn't even work..it's been a nightmare, okay. All I want to do is download an app or update apps? Sniffs back tears. :{ why you have to be soo hard? So ok, I know it's not THAT BAD compared too some of the tragic world events right now..but its messed up, ok? You are reading this because you want a break, right? If not then exit now and go to the World News and pick on someone else. K, thanks bye. So anyway, today seems to be a pretty good day for clarity. LOL So I went looking online and finally found the correct sequence of star Alignments/ patterns & Magic Mac Words that would allow me to change it and now I'm updating my iTunes-iPhone- iPad & syncing with the cloud! I think I may run for president, WTF! Oh Happy day! In other crazy non-related stuff: And YES I'm gonna blog about it. When I spend right at $800.USD on something I think it deserves a mention, ok?
Sometimes I think my friends in the EU who don't own cars are right. By the time we buy auto, insure it, inspect it, repair it and maintain it we have spent a fortune. (Not to mention fuel! WTF) Don't get me wrong I love my autos, esp. my truck...but... The story of the tires isn't really all about the tires its about Business & customer service too. I looked on line and best price was 1 hours drive from here, approx 65 miles away. So figure petrol, food, shopping while I'm there (yes, really) and I knew the drive out price. I then called local people about ordering tires for me. if we were in ball park I would do it, but I also have to figure in MY TIME. Cause I do have to work some, lol. 1st Place. Lady answered phone,"YES?" Tone was why are you calling me, bitch? I thought I had misdialed?? I asked if it was said business?? and she replied "yes." FLAT as hell. Me: "Um ok, I need a price on getting some tires?" SIGH- "Hold on." Click ME: Waiting & waiting.. then hang up 2nd place: Generic Answering machine (Once again did google give me right #?) No humans around. Hmm has that Zombie event happened? No time to think, must get tires for REAL now. 3rd place: Man answers phone: "HI, This is XXX of XX. Can I help you?" Me: Falls off chair! Recovers quickly and asks about pricing tires. Explain I have # and would like same said tires. Man: "Ok Great. I don't have those in stock. But I would be happy to find the price and if you like order for you?" ME: "How soon would they arrive?" Man: "Next day, usually by noon." ME: "Ok get me price, please." MAN: "OK, do you want to call me back in 15 mints?" ME: "Sure, thanks." He never asked my name, btw Later- ME: "Hi, I called regarding tires while ago?" MAN: "Yes, Ma'ma. I have the price for you as $786.53. I know thats quite a bit, If you would like to call around and get other prices..." He trailed off. ME: "NO, thats ok. Order them please." And he did and thats what I paid. He was SUPER nice *and should be as I was spending so much $$$. :O BTW I have noticed so many places that the employees are so far removed (in their minds) from the customers experience that they barely say thank you or care that you spend any $$ at all. Working for myself I cannot tell you how much that BOTHERS me. But basically when you spend $$ with us, you help us. I can pay employees and can pay my bills. We are grateful! Do you understand this concept? Customer Service seems to be a thing of the past in the US. WTF?? ok rant over. Tip your server and have a good weekend. blah blah blah Catch you later~ ![]() Hello! I have another "Throw Back" Post today. This time Saint Gervais, France. I wanted to go some where different for my birthday in 2010, so we decided to visit the alps for a week! :D We were in the South of France that year, so it was pretty easy to get there. We flew into Geneva, Switzerland and had a car service pick us up and transport us to the gite. It was August, so off season, but was really a nice holiday. Also The annual meteor shower was exceptional viewed from the alps! Warning: Picture heavy post. So I was really daring and booked this place last second. (Not something I usually do) But got a GREAT Deal. Like I say is was off season, so that helped too. I have a TON of pictures from the trip, well I should say HAD, these are a few I pulled off Snapfish, again. Sadly all the rest are toast, :( So please to enjoy a trip to the French Alps. St Gervais les Bains (also referred to as St Gervais or St Gervais Mont Blanc) is not a recently purpose built resort, and so has a significant year round population, (approx 5,200) rather than just seasonal. It is full of historical buildings giving it the traditional charm much sought after in the alps. The Village is also famous for its flowers. You will see villages marked with flowers symbols on maps in France. This means they have won awards for the beauty of their flower decorations. Bakery was very good.
But be warned only a VERY FEW people in the village speak English. There was a good sized (for Europe) Casino Market in town too, If I remember correctly. It looks like I am going to have to cut this post in half. Uploader is not working and is taking forever. So one more shot of Mt Blanc and more next time. “When traveling is made too easy and comfortable, its spiritual meaning is lost. This may be called sentimentalism, but a certain sense of loneliness engendered by traveling leads one to reflect upon the meaning of life, for life is after all a travelling from one unknown to another unknown.”
D.T. Suzuki Ok, I admit it.. I have the travel bug. I don't want to stay home. I want to go, go, Go! And there are soo many good deals going on right now! Every time I open my mailbox I find more. But meanwhile with my friends.... The Vegas Trip is turning into a Nightmare :X With Everyone's Schedule & all it's almost impossible. It's so hard to plan a group get away. The only one who can go about any time is of course.....Rick. :( FML Why are we not surprised? But the prices are going from the ridicules to the totally sublime. So I say it's a sign...must TRAVEL.NOW. Look at this Groupon Deal :O So, umm how can we NOT go, right?? THAT deal is good until Sept 15 (I think) so WTH? Lets get it together. Part of the problems we are having is flying vs driving. Driving (which I am not going to do) from my part of Texas take 4EVER. It's a full day's drive just to get out of Texas. (Told you before it's a big place.) And that through the umm, how do I say nicely...rather bleak part of Texas. No offense if that's where you live. Most people think Texas all looks the same, but it is very, very different. So it's a VERY LONG way to drive from San Marcos, Texas to Las Vegas..I have done it...But only because we missed our plane coming home and there wasn't another one for several days (or some BS the airlines told us) Another story for another time, but anyway...I looked at flights and they are anywhere from $250. to $350.USD so thats not too bad either. (Yes, cheaper would be nice, but the hotel was only $14.00!) I usually stay in the Luxor & they send me discount deals all the time (not $14.00 though, WTF?!) So I don't know. I'm going to give the girls a few more days to get it together and then I'm just going to book for myself. (And not tell Rick, lol) Luxor Las Vegas. *___* Yeah. I like BIG OVER the TOP, what about it?? Moving on..We got together to watch movies and catch up. (and I thought to plan the trip?? But that didn't happen.) I actually bought these Pretzel Crisps by mistake. I was on the phone with Ms Y and was about to be late, so I just threw stuff in the basket & whizzed out as fast as I could. But they turned out to be really, really good. Will buy again. And I made 2 kinds of popcorn (earlier in the day). 5 quarts EACH of light butter/salt and homemade Carmel Popcorn. There was just a Wee bit of Carmel left. + we had fruit and veggies of course. It was a really nice evening. Great to catch up with everyone and unwind with good movies, good friends and good food!
Ok, I have to get to the office now, then Yoga. :D Catch you later- |
