Ready, Set, Jet!

Hi, Web Fam! It's another happy fall day! We are about to move from Autumn to winter and I'm pretty excited. We have only had slightly cooler temps, but I've used the fireplaces most nights. I don't know about you, but I'm so glad it "candle weather" again. You never fully appreciate the warmth of candles until you light them in July, lol. #Truestory I'm ready to go sweater shopping too. Want to come with? I have swapped out my summer wardrobe for fall/winter and realized I don't have enough soft sweaters or black jeans, lol. But that will have to wait, this weekend I'm staying in to catch up on some work and also get the house ready for the big cold storm heading our way. The temps are going to drop below freezing and I still have plants to move around and there is a possibility of snow and ice, for the next few days! But colder weather really does make it seem like the holiday season. I'm working on a blog post covering the best places for sights (and shopping) in Northern New Mexico during the winter months. So soon we are going to be exploring further a field. There are so many interesting things coming up in Santa Fe and the surrounding area I'd like to check out and share with you. ![]() So that's my weekend, hope you have a good one! Hi there lovely reader, How are you? Are you as excited about winter travel as I am? Probably or you wouldn't be here. Until I can hop on the next train, plane or boat I'm at home working away to pay for all those upcoming adventures. So being I haven't done one of these "whats in my bag" posts in a long time I thought I would overshare with you today. (I did a What's in "My Shopping Bag" in 2016. If you want to go back down memory lane.) I actually changed out my trusty black bag for a more "fall vibe" this week. What do you think? It's a vegan leather bag from Vince Camuto I received from FFF. (I think it was in the autumn box, which I don't think I've even reviewed yet? ) Opps! I really like this vegan leather bag. I find it roomy, without being bulky. One downside is that it doesn't have a snap. A snap would make it perfect. So how much stuff do you pack into your work bag? I usually have files or notes, depending on what meeting I'm going to or what I'm doing that day. Other than that I try to keep my load to a minimum. Plus external hard drive, a hair clip, pens, lipstick, lip balm, a mala and a tigers eye bracelet. The jewelry is for when I need to look more put together. They match most of what I wear day-to-day and can dress up my outfit if I suddenly have a meeting that requires me to look more professional. Same goes for the lipstick. The jewelry is from www.Serenityreikiclinic.com as are the small bags. I use them to corral the small items. So thats currently all that's in my work bag. Half the time I don't even bother with carrying a purse. I just add my wallet and keys to this bag and off I go.
So tell me, what 'must have' essential am I missing? Or what is the one thing you can't live without in your bag? I'd love to here. Until then~ Today's blogging challenge - My Outfit I was off work today, but it was a busy day running errands. I wore a long maxi dress, black sandals and carried a large black vegan bag. The dress is new, easy to care for cotton and very breathable in the late summer heat. I wish I had bought 6 of them! But I never know when buying maxi dresses online if they will be long enough. It is a problem finding a size medium that is the right length. I'm 5'9 and most of it is in my legs, lol. My accessories were kept to a minimum, just a lovely over sized moonstone and silver cuff. My friend that just past away bought it for me several years ago as a birthday gift, making it even more of a treasure. The weather is still unpredictable, but it turned into a nice sunny day. Later that evening we had a lovely dinner with friends on the patio. It was a prefect day! Hope your Sunday was good as well.
Tune in tomorrow for the next random blog challenge post! Where I grew up we didn’t have a proper autumn, so we missed out on a lot of fun fall activities. I’m glad to report central New Mexico has four full seasons to enjoy. #Win! 6 Things I’m looking forward to in Fall: #6 - Boots, Scarves & Sweaters! I do love living in sundresses and shorts, but I also love soft, cozy sweaters and fun scarves. I’m already shopping for new boots to add to my collection. #5 - Hot tea - It just tastes 100 times better in the cooler weather. #4 - Fall Activities - Shopping the pumpkin patches, baking, looking for corn mazes, etc. It’s also a great time to go hiking. The snakes are in for the winter and the air feels so invigorating. #3 - Fall color-Everything and anything is colorful right now. The trees are turning their brilliant shades of orange and yellow. #2 -Weather - It’s not too cold or too warm. Perfect time to be out in nature or sit home with a book. Honestly I love gray, rainy days and the cooler weather so much! Also because the weather has changed you can burn candles again. You may wonder why I said, "Again?" Burning candles with the ceiling fans on sucks. :( #1 - And my favorite part of fall is....Halloween! Tune in tomorrow to continue on the September blogging challenge.
My current Favorite Fashion Trend: Bold Jewelry 2017 was all about dainty, feminine jewelry, which I still love, but this year’s jewelry is BOLD! Think oversized earrings, large pendants and chunky, statement bracelets. This is where you can have a lot of fun and spice up any old outfit! ![]() I tend to collect big statement pieces over tiny, delicate styles, that is except for earrings. Why not BOLD earrings too? Well, since 90% of the time I wear my hair down, big earrings don't work. You can't see them and also they tend to get caught up in my hair. 🙂 The one time I did wear my hair up and I was kicking myself for not buying the matching earrings to go with my necklace. Do you purchase sets or just buy random pieces you love?
I haven't been reviewing any boxes lately because I actually figured you were tired of seeing the same old thing....but I did get a Spring Fab Fit Fun box in and some really awesome Vegan snacks though and thought I would share. Are you like me and love mystery subscription boxes? It's really nice getting something other than junk mail or bills in the post, lol. So here is what I received in March: There were a few items I didn't really care about and a few that were not vegan so I donated, but for only $49.99 I still feel like I got my money's worth. I will probably go ahead now and purchase a yearly subscription. You save $20 by doing this and get first pick on "add ons". If you want to try and a box (and save some money too!) use this link: SAVE You get $10 off your 1st box! (This is my 3rd box!) It works out to right around $200USD worth of stuff...and almost ALL of it is full size, so you get to actually try the products out. The Vegan Cuts box is $22.95 (including shipping) - it goes down in price if you buy a 6 month or year sub. There are always at least 10 and sometimes 15 products inside. I didn't take many pictures, because at the time I wasn't planning on posting a review. UH OH....but yeah you get the idea right? I have been getting this box for over 2 years and it only gets better each month. #WIN And not from a box (but notice my new candle, lol) I have been eyeing these marble trays for some time. I finaily broke down and bought one. I love it and have no idea why I waited so long! So what boxes do you get? Are there any good ones I should check out? Leave me a comment - I'm always looking to try new products and find cool, vegan or off beat stuff.
Once again save $10 off your first FFF box here and enjoy your weekend! See you at the airport~ My Fit Fab Fun Winter Box arrived today! I was surprised that the add ons also shipped with it. From what I had read on line it sometimes takes weeks for them to ship (and to not worry, they are in transit) so I was pleasantly surprised. ![]() I will review the box fully in a day or two, but I can tell you now that I was happy with it. Catch you later! This is a Fab Fit Fun Update See original post here. After I had problems with my 1st box I went to the site and talked to CS, on the 11th. In the process I saw so, so, so many horrible reviews! Mostly about customers service (OMG) and ship time/response time. And also the reviews read like if you are in Canada you are screwed. (Sorry friends in Canada) I actually spoke to one of my (non Canadian) GF ’s about the company….she has been getting the boxes for over a year and can’t say enough good about them. She assured me they would fix the problems and I should just sit tight. She also loves the “add ons” and other perks they offer. I told her I would wait and see how this worked out before I upgraded. #ImLikeThat So fast forward - I spoke twice with CS and they asked for pictures, which I sent of the oil soaked box, etc. Then it did take a few days for them to respond back to my emails, but so far I have received a replacement of the oil (yeah!) and an email telling me that the 5 missing face masks are on the way. The last email informing me I would receive replacement face masks was sent on the 20th….so it has taken some time. I will post, of course, when the masks do arrive and hopefully this will be resolved soon. At this point I am still game to spend $50 for the next seasonal box (and review it here for you) but not upgrade and subscribe for a year up front. Being a business owner I know mistakes happen, it’s part of the equation, but it’s how we handle these mistakes that makes all the difference in the world. So we shall see how they do on the next round.
What do you think? Have you had a similar experience with this brand? I’d love to hear your take on it or your thoughts. Until then... Hey! I really was thinking about editing my subscription boxes. On the one hand I love them! Its like Christmas every time they arrive! New, fun goodies and surprises! But on the other, this is more stuff I may or may not use and sometimes I feel that for the price you don't get much more than samples, you know? It's such a dilemma! So how come I'm opening a new box then? Well, as I was having this very conversation with a buddy of mine, she recommended this box. "If you're going to cut down on boxes, I'd keep this one." Keep it? I never even tried it! She looked at me like I was living under a rock! Turns out this company is so much more than just a beautiful subscription box. I went over to their website and ordered after reading and seeing all the value you get for the money. Did I mention everything is FULL SIZE no samples here! Use my link to save and Get your box! (We both win!) Here's the details: They ship out seasonal. so 4 boxes a year. But you can get Editors Boxes (like I did) anytime - plus they also have sales and add ons and oh so much more! This is what was in the Editors Box: You also fill out info about yourself so that get products designed for you. Which seems like such a good idea, rather than making it a "one size fits all" box. Grab your box here and join the Fab Fit Family! The details: Boxes cost $49.99 (including shipping) Use the link to save on your box. They are very highly rated and loved by so many people! They do ship to Canada and Puerto Rico! But Shipping is an additional $8 for seasonal boxes and $10 for shop orders for all Canada, Puerto Rico, Alaska, and Hawaii orders. I'm going to try the regular seasonal box before I pass judgement. I liked most of the items but that mask valued at $36 is crazy! I actually wrote them to see if it was a mistake. No answer yet... but I will keep you updated. What do you think?
Have you tried this box before? Was it worth the $$? I'd love to hear about your experience! *This Post is continued here* Catch your later! We haven't done this in forever! Let's play "What the Hell have I been posting" okay? In no particular order here are a few of my latest posts on IG and a brief explanation. This was taken in Freshark in New York. I adore their fresh food and visited daily for the smoothies and Vegan burgers! (Read about it HERE) I was in New York in January and again a few days ago, so it would seem like this is going to be a good year for traveling! I have been blogging some about the recent trip to Iceland. Check here and here or just hit the Iceland tag here. Really pretty handmade jewelry in New Mexico. I may have returned ready to shop, lol. I actually have a ton of pictures from this trip I need to sort and write about. Isn't the jewelry amazing? The weather has been so, so crazy!
1st trip to NYC and it was snowing, and it was colder there than in Iceland! 2nd trip to NYC and it's spring like weather, until the day after we leave and a blizzard hits! OMG! #WTF?? I'm so glad for my cozy socks, and to be back home - let it snow! Catch you later- |
