Hi,
How are things? It was just Christmas, right? This week has whisked by in the blink of an eye – or so it seems. Are you watching our Vlogmas videos? Find the latest one here: youtu.be/N25wijOxVTg?si=yasrsCJkFNwVpJPH I've been uber busy since the 19th, then I was on the road the 25-26th and back to our vacation stay, so it all kind of feels surreal. But I'm happy we are healthy and able to have these adventures. 2020 taught us not to take anything for granted. Okay I need to wash clothes and get to packing we are traveling again soon. I hope you had a wonderful week filled with joy and warmth, regardless of what you celebrate. See you at the airport~ Today this random photo popped up on my phone as a "On this day.." LOL So on Dec 22, 2014 (9 years ago) I was standing in line at Tesco waiting to check out with a basket of fruit. Too Funny.
I was staying a month at Thornton-Cleveleys for the holiday. We had a good time and its a fond memory. Do you have a favourite place to spend the holidays? How many pineapples do you need to feel festive? hahah I need at least two, it would seem. Share your suggestions for next year, please. Now I will go back to Vlogmas lol. Catch you later-
OVERVIEW: Tony Hillerman was the former president of the Mystery Writers of America for a reason.. he writes a good story. I effortlessly fell into this mystery and learned more about the Navajos people and the high desert life of New Mexico. Looking forward to reading the entire inspired series of books. My Last Minute Thoughts:
This week I visited an old friend and while wandering around her home I noticed some of her collections and treasures. We had an interesting conversation about what we keep and why. Where do you draw the line between collecting and hoarding and how does one display their treasures? This picture doesn't do justice to the bottles she has on display, the sunlight from a near by window really set them off, as did the texture of the walls, painting and chest. The glass bottle collection became an art piece as a unit, making a statement besides the beauty of each textured bottle individually.
My mother collected postcards, glasses, shot glasses and many other things. She kept most of her treasures boxed up, which always felt a little sad to me. It seemed like a waste. Why collect something that you couldn't admire, touch or interact with? I seem to collect gems stones, jewellery and of course books! Soon my collections will have a new home and I'm so excited! What do you collect and why? How do you manage it? Let me know, I need ideas! Have a great weekend~ |
