Ready, Set, Jet!

Happy end of May! I hope you have had some fun, sun and time with good friends this month. I went to New Mexico earlier this month (among other places, but I did manage to blog about some of the trip here, more travel posts up soon!) Sadly the weather has been too stormy and unpredictable to plan a trip to the beach. More rain and flash flooding predicted for the rest of the week. #Yikes But I have plenty of fruit so I'm set! (Look for a never ending supply of smoothy/nice cream pictures to follow on Instagram, lol) I hope you had a fun filled May, full of love and adventure. I know the rest of the year will be even better! :D See you at the airport!
So hello again, As I set to write more on this blog I laugh to myself about what (or how little I actually write here) for example, this is what I want to write: "Suddenly bewitched by an errant butterfly, (or something about as bizarre), the bewildered athlete made a wrong turn and left the race course. Without warning he was in the middle of speeding, angry autos and oncoming traffic. Somehow, and rather miraculously, I might add, he made a narrow escape around two Peugeot into a medieval, crooked alley way. It was apparent he used all his training to defy gravity and escape the traffic; stunned in to open mouthed silence, we watched from the side walk cafe, not more than a few feet away. I was so discouraged by his near death that I could hardly finish my cappuccino.." But instead I will just take a shy picture of my drink and write how delicious it was. #Fail
I ask myself why? Is it because I fear judgement? Will you judge my writing and find it puerile and gauche? So instead I write nothing? The stories are after all what make the trips so much more than just airline miles. But I find I usually do not share them. Again I ask myself why? Odd, no? Maybe it's just France that makes me behave this way, I don't know.. Bonne nuit~ Sundays are for having fun and exploring, don't you agree? I am so happy to be traveling again! I have already had so many interesting things happen on this trip! You never know who you are going to meet or what adventures you will have. I promise a full post soon as I get settled in. See you at the airport~ Oh, a quick PS But you know, you do not even exist in my world.
Cheers! How are things with you? This has been an outrageously busy week for me. Between work (didn't I say I was taking off the month of May to move? WTF?) Packing up to move, friends in crisis, crazy flooding weather conditions and company, things have been insane. But on the bright side... I received both a Thrive order and the May Vegancuts snack box this week. At least we have plenty to eat, if I could only slow down long enough to sample them. The selection was good and the prices were not too bad. Thrive is a yearly subscription company that offers wholesale prices on organic, healthy food and household items. They also give back to the community. I didn't feel the prices were actual wholesale though, or if so only a few pennies cheaper than other online stores. Some of the items were comparable to my local market in prices. Still overall I was pleased with the order. The free shipping took a full week to arrive. (Amazon Prime has me totally spoiled.) But the box was well packed, the order was complete and the items were fresh. I'm signed up for a year, so I will place another order next month and decide if I want to keep it or not. Now on to the May Vegancuts snack box: I have not ordered Vegan cuts in over a year because we were living out of the US. It seems like there is a lot MORE food than I remember in this box. Here are a few boxes I received in the past: May 2014 and June 2013. If you want to read more. I still have not caught up from my time in New Mexico. Have a great weekend~
Hello~ I'm back in Texas. It's been a crazy week. If you follow me on SnapChat you know. I was in Albuquerque, New Mexico (Did I upload those photos yet?) and then Roswell...from there to San Antonio, Texas Monday and Austin, Texas Tuesday. #GoodTimes The weather is much more humid here than in New Mexico. And it's MUCH warmer here too. I miss the cool mornings and breezy afternoons, but everything is still green and blooming in south Texas, for now. The wildflowers were amazing on the drive. I will post those photos as soon as there are sorted. It's been a long week. Excuse my windblown and slightly dazed look. Good Night and see you at the airport! While in New Mexico we went to the Isleta Pueblo. While there we also stopped off at the casino, lol. I won a bit ~ Yeah. But back to the Pueblo... Occasionally while traveling around I'm asked by Europeans if I am amazed at all the old stuff in their countries. I always say I am. It's the truth, actually. But then some will make a comment about nothing being over 200 years old in America. QUÉ? Really? Hmmmm.... Sometimes I explain we have ancient Native American dwellings, sometimes I just smile and walk away. I have visited a few pueblos, both in New Mexico and Colorado. Pueblo is a Spanish word for town. But not just any town... From wiki: "By about 700 to 900 AD, the Pueblo began to abandon ancient pit houses dug in cliffs and to construct connected rectangular rooms arranged in apartment-like structures made of adobe and adapted to sites. By 1050 AD, they had developed planned villages composed of large terraced buildings, each with many rooms. These apartment-house villages were often constructed on defensive sites: on ledges of massive rock, on flat summits, or on steep-sided mesas, locations that would afford the Anasazi protection from their Northern enemies. The largest of these villages, Pueblo Bonito in the Chaco Canyon of New Mexico, contained around 700 rooms in five stories; it may have housed as many as 1000 persons." Hello and Happy May from Texas! Are you ready to roam? Here is todays adventure... Ready, set go! Up early to get this show on the road. I am so thankful petrol is affordable here in Texas. We drive EVERYWHERE. :( I actually was in both Austin and San Antonio today. It was a long day, but tomorrow is going to be so worth it. #Wanderlust I have some funny/adventure videos from Snapchat, but will not load here, #Boo
(Sarahpthomas if you want to check them out, they are mostly nonsense anyway.) I'm finally done for the day. #WIN And to celebrate I just had a nice long swim in the pool. Now I'm ready for some quality sleep. Catch you later~ |
