Ready, Set, Jet!

Okay this is an update to this post on Oct 11, 2017 and this post on the 24th. I ordered the Editor's Box from Fab Fit Fun and it was damaged and missing some items. See those dates for the full review and see below to read about my customer service experience. 1st here was the box I received. I can tell you as a business owner mistakes happen, but it's how you deal with them that counts. I contacted Customer Service and let them know about the problems (this post) - I also read more reviews about this brand. More than 3/4 were not good. Oh NO! But I also know that most people only review when they are mad... so I kept an open mind. I also spoke to a friend of mine who has been a happy customer for more than a year and she RAVES about how nice the items are and how great the sales are. She assured me that they would fix the problems. Guess what? They did! I received a replacement of the oil that spilled and today this was in the post. The missing sheet masks! So this was the basic conversation I had with my friend about the experience:
Her: "Did they fix the problem?" Me: - Yes Her: "How much of a hassle was it to get it fixed?" Me: - A few emails and I sent pictures, so not bad. Her "Did you pay for shipping?" Me: - No, they covered shipping on all items. Her "Would your recommend this brand?" Me: -So far yes! I will let you know if I change that rating after I purchase a seasonal box. You should make an effort to travel the world, or at least travel more and further than you are now. You know it's a lot of fun, but it’s also good for you. I can honestly say I have grown more as a person from my travels and adventures. I've met amazing people and had life changing experiences along the way. I encourage you to explore more, do more, see more and not put it off. Become More Open Minded By exploring the world you realize that there is more than one way to do things. Cooking is done differently, parenting is done differently, and even the rhythm of life might be very different. (And that’s just the beginning.) You will come across all sorts of new ideas that challenge the way you’ve been thinking about things. That’s a good thing because it gives you the opportunity to rethink how you’re doing things and become more mindful about your own life. We live in a very global and interconnected world, but experiencing more of it in person will help you understand it better, which brings us to the first big benefit of traveling the world… Experience New Cultures As you travel the world and interact with the people living there, you learn a lot about different cultures. Its fun to try new food, go shopping in a very different atmosphere and look at very different products, stumble through conversations in a foreign language, and just soak up the fact that things can be done differently. Traveling is a great way to experience new cultures and learn from those experiences. Get Out Of Your Comfort Zone
Because so many things are done very differently and the entire culture is different from your own, traveling gets you out of your comfort zone. It’s great when you feel like you’re stuck in a rut or just need some fresh inspiration. When we stay in our comfort zone, it’s hard to grow and it’s hard to change how we live our lives. Stepping out of that zone and doing things that are new, uncomfortable, and challenging is how we grow has human beings. Traveling is a great way to do that. I encourage you to make travel a priority and not wait to go explore. If actual world travel isn’t an option for you right now, do a bit of armchair traveling by learning more about a foreign country including its culture and language as you plan your trip. See you at the airport! It's almost Halloween! Are you ready? Vegans Cuts offered an additional box this year for Halloween, besides the regular monthly box, so I had to grab it! It arrived very quickly after I placed the order and it was jam packed with great, organic snacks! I really think there was EVEN MORE snacks in this box than the normal monthly one. There were a lot of favorites included too. So it was a nice treat - especially if you are trying to avoid all the sugary Halloween candy from the supermarket. So my son took 90% of this, but it's okay- my Halloween Treats were in the form of Masks this time! Read about the October Horror Masks HERE if you haven't already. And Happy Almost Halloween!
Look what just arrived! October's Mask Maven! And 1,000 points to them for embracing the Halloween theme! Check out these frightful cool masks! I received an email from them hinting at "Horror Masks" in a sneak preview, but honestly I promptly forgot all about them. I really love the variety of masks in these boxes. I had so many that even after I cleared all the non-Vegan ones I paused my subscription (which was super easy and hassle free) but am glad I was able to grab this months box.
I will let you know my favorite soon! See you at the airport~ This is a Fab Fit Fun Update See original post here. After I had problems with my 1st box I went to the site and talked to CS, on the 11th. In the process I saw so, so, so many horrible reviews! Mostly about customers service (OMG) and ship time/response time. And also the reviews read like if you are in Canada you are screwed. (Sorry friends in Canada) I actually spoke to one of my (non Canadian) GF ’s about the company….she has been getting the boxes for over a year and can’t say enough good about them. She assured me they would fix the problems and I should just sit tight. She also loves the “add ons” and other perks they offer. I told her I would wait and see how this worked out before I upgraded. #ImLikeThat So fast forward - I spoke twice with CS and they asked for pictures, which I sent of the oil soaked box, etc. Then it did take a few days for them to respond back to my emails, but so far I have received a replacement of the oil (yeah!) and an email telling me that the 5 missing face masks are on the way. The last email informing me I would receive replacement face masks was sent on the 20th….so it has taken some time. I will post, of course, when the masks do arrive and hopefully this will be resolved soon. At this point I am still game to spend $50 for the next seasonal box (and review it here for you) but not upgrade and subscribe for a year up front. Being a business owner I know mistakes happen, it’s part of the equation, but it’s how we handle these mistakes that makes all the difference in the world. So we shall see how they do on the next round.
What do you think? Have you had a similar experience with this brand? I’d love to hear your take on it or your thoughts. Until then... *Warning* This tastes more like a decadent dessert than a nutritious way to start the day. The natural sweetness of the orange and carrots are balanced by a trio of complementary spices, while a spoonful of homemade coconut whipped cream serves as the perfect finishing touch. Prep time: 10 minutes Serves: 2 Coconut Whipped Cream Ingredients: 1 13.5-oz. can full fat coconut milk, chilled 1 tablespoon organic maple syrup (optional) 1 teaspoon orange zest (optional) Smoothie Ingredients: 1 cup coconut milk 1 large ripe banana, peeled, cut into chunks and frozen 2 large stalks celery, roughly chopped 1 large orange, peeled 4 large carrots, roughly chopped ¾ teaspoon cinnamon ¾ teaspoon ground allspice ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg 4-6 ice cubes Optional Garnish: Ground cinnamon Finely chopped walnuts Directions:
Makes a wonderful breakfast for two!
See you at the airport~
Yes, Pumpkin shopping is a real thing!
Okay, it may just be an excuse to get out before true winter begins... But when isn't shopping always a good idea? All the autumn decorations (and food) are worth experiencing.
I admit that's a BIG box. But you don't want to run out of coffee! #54Cups!
And yes, I might be missing Texas just a bit.
You can try the coffee for yourself here: At the Isleta Casino and Resort today! :D The weather is much warmer today and look at that blue sky! We took a road trip to the casino... (No gambling pictures, but with a 30,000 square foot casino you can imagine what it was like!) Going in for an impromptu afternoon of gambling and shopping! It's not that far from my home, but with the winding mountain roads it takes about a half an hour to get there. We had a nice time and I was still back home for chai at a decent hour. #WinWin
Speaking of winning, I won a bit on the slots. #GoMe! And yes, I bought baby pumpkins while I was out, lol. (Do I know how to live or what??) |
