How are you? It's a chilly 42' this afternoon in overcast New Mexico. (I love it!) And because I have a MEGA amount of traveling coming up I am out walking around trying to do anything but work, lol. So behold the beauty of a chilly afternoon walk... More videos soon, I may even finally post the Iceland videos. Better late, than never.
Catch you later~ I will return to the blog challenge soon, but first...
My most recent case of wanderlust is pulling me away from home and out to explore the world. Confession Time:
I have been doing yoga off and on since I was a teenager. But sadly the last few years I haven’t practiced more than once or twice a month, if that. :( In August I committed to a daily workout and couldn't be happier. I currently spend about 30 minutes every morning stretching and relaxing in different poses. Yoga makes my body feel good. It feels great on my spine, and I can feel the tension in my back releasing as I perform the different poses. From there it is easy to flow into my morning meditation and writing. #BIGWIN And yes, all this happens before work. Last year I could not have imaged having time enough in the mornings for more than that cup of coffee as I ran out the door! But since I have hired extra help in the office, I have gotten my life back. Thankfully my entire morning has changed for the better. How am I finding extra time for yoga? Waking up earlier (and going to bed earlier) ensures I have time for Yoga in the mornings. I used to stay up late working and then felt like crap the next day. Now I have a set schedule and relaxing night time routine. Not only do I feel better, I'm also calmer and unruffled all day long. The yoga has helped me feel less stressed mentally and my body feels more open and relaxed. This is true even when work gets crazy and I have to work those long hours. I have also noticed when I do morning yoga I'm less likely to eat crap or have another cup of coffee. What is your favorite form of exercise? Does it help you beat stress too? I’d love to hear. Also tune in tomorrow for more of September Blogging Challenge. This has been a interesting Challenge. I've tried to stay on top of it and also be more open about my life. When I tell people I'm about to go on another adventure, they always seem shocked and then wistful...So I ask them what's the one thing that holds them back from traveling? They always say the same thing....Money. And the thing is they have no idea how much a trip actually costs. They just believe that can't afford it so don't go any further. It becomes an unattainable dream. Something to imagine when they are caught in rush hour traffic or working a double shift. Some impossible fantasy that only happens to a select few. ~Sigh~ But you know what? It's not really about Money -- It's about CHOICES. What do you choose to spend your money on? Travel or a new, over priced car? A new luxury purse or a cruise? Sticking to a budget and watching your spending can allow almost anyone to save enough for a trip. For me, hands down I would rather have the experience of travel than a new, shiny "thing". But that's what I choose. Which would you pick?
See you at the airport~ And the blogging challenge continues.. This is an easier post for me than some of the other topics in this daily blogging challenge. I'm very fortunate to have so much good in my life right now. It hasn't always been this way, but I do feel very blessed right now. Ten things that make me happy and/or I'm grateful for: #1 is of course my son. #2 Nature #3 Travel! #4 Plants! #6 FOOD! All the wonderful fruits and veggies! I'm so happy we get to eat healthy food everyday. #7 My friends! They are so cool, so supportive and are so crazy! They make me happy everyday. I feel so blessed!
See you tomorrow for the next post in the blogging challenge! The blog challenge continues. Today we talk TV. I don't watch that much TV but I am enjoying a few programs right now: I didn't want to watch Wynonna Earp because I had no idea what it was about. A western? A country singer? Demons? #WTF?! Then a friend told me what I was missing! After watching season one I was hooked. The dialogue was spot on and the heroes are tough, not frail women. They are messed up, swearing, demon slaying misfits, but who isn't? Plus it is chocked full of supernatural baddies that keep getting odder and odder. What's not to love? And oh yeah, there's Doc! Start at season one and enjoy the bat shit crazy ride! I'm also watching season 2 of Ozark. Unless you live in a cave, I'm sure you've seen or heard about this one. To me it feels like a 'Breaking Bad' type wannabe drama. Its well written and well acted of course, but I don't know... There is something off about it. I don't love it as much a BB. Although it does ask some of the BB questions, like how far will an 'average person' go? And when do you stop saying it's to protect your family and just admit your good at crime? At times it feels too heavy to watch and can be a bit predictable. But at least it's not your standard crime drama, with overtones of the Sopranos as well as BB it looks at crime on may different levels. It's immensely popular so I wont give away any of the details if you aren't caught up yet. And speaking of BB I'm also hooked on Better Call Saul. Which is shot a few miles from my current home base in New Mexico. Better Call Saul is the prequel to Breaking Bad.
Over the last 4 seasons we slowly watched the random players come together and evolve into the people we watched in BB. "Saul" or Jimmy, is the connector in all of this, with an entertaining, if not disturbing backstory worth watching. If you want to watch a smart, well written and staged drama, then give it a try, it will not disappoint. Thats all the tv I have room for now. Do you watch any of these shows? What TV shows are you hooked on? Share your recommendations below. See you for the next blog channel post tomorrow! Today was spent desperately searching through old notebooks and scrapes of paper to find some brilliant idea I had 5 years ago. 🙄 This daily blog challenge is kicking my ass! Where do you get your ideas and how often do you blog? Why did I think I could blog everyday? Shaking my head at myself over this one, I'm pretty sure I've never blogged a solid month ever! Plus it seems the last few years with me becoming busier and busier at work I'm blogging even less. #FML Well so much for inspiration from the past. I found nothing I wanted to write about. Screw this... I'm gonna make some tea and read.... Tune in tomorrow as I continue the daily blogging challenge and hopefully have something more exciting to write about, lol.
