Ready, Set, Jet!
|
I can almost see the weekend from here.
But there is something more building. It feels like a big change is right around the corner. Are you feeling it too? “When the winds of change blow, some people build walls and others build windmills.” — Chinese Proverb Speak soon~ Happy August! It's that time again - time for a raw month to cleanse and detox! Are you ready? To be honest I try to eat at least 5-7 raw meals a week, so this isn't that big of challenge, it is much more challenging to give up the coffee! It is now Day 5 and I feel soooooo good! Don't get me wrong, I don't think Morning Star foods are bad for you - especially compared to the "real" burgers out there. But you don't want to live off them either. It's a good idea to give your body a break from everything, once in a while. If you are unsure as what to what to eat... I will attempt to post more of what I'm eating this month...
I'm taking a week off from work for my birthday, although the fun has already started, lol and so many good things are happening! Look for more blog posts soon! See you at the airport~ Good Afternoon! I’ve been MIA again, but before I give you another lame excuse, know that I was thinking about you dear reader. Because I truly was, I haven't had time to blog, but I was thinking about you. Mostly I've been wondering why you keep coming back? Why you care about my silly little blog and what the HELL I should write about. So after much thinking, and hardly any writing, I think it's time for a Thankfulness Challenge again. You remember, like we did in the good old days? I found a 30 day (Goodness!) Challenge while I was googling *err, I mean Working* today and thought I would give it a try….and because I really am a dedicated hard, working blogger I will even filled in the parts I missed. So are you ready for a thought provoking, funny and hopefully interesting look at gratitude and thankfulness? Lets dive in! Day 1 challenge: List something about you, personally: Hmm, I think the thing I am most grateful for is my ability to learn. I have had so many opportunities and adventures because I was able to learn new skills. I don’t think I am terribly smart, (don't get me wrong, I'm not stupid, even if I can't spell!) But I am able to learn things quickly. This was an asset in every job/career I have pursued and I am grateful for this ability. Day 2: Something about you - physically your grateful for: Hmmm, I’m grateful for my body. I may not look like a swimsuit model, but I love the fact that I healthy. I love my body! It took me years to appreciate it, but now I marvel at it everyday! My body is my best friend and I try to take care of it and in turn we do amazing things! I am so grateful for my health and my body! Day 3: Your significant other or best friend: Hmmm, I have a lot of really good friends. People that have been through the ups and downs of life with me and I am grateful for every single one of them. And it would be easy for me to stop at that, but in the spirit of being "real" with you, I will be honest. For those that don't know, I married a lovely man whom I thought was my best friend. Currently, as I write this, I am in the middle of a divorce! But I can say I am grateful for the lessons it taught me. I have loved deeply and will again, I know this and am grateful. It was not an easy experience but it was worthwhile in learning how much I could love, what I could endure and how much of myself I would give up for another person. It taught me many, many lessons and I am grateful for the experience. Hmm this isn't as fun as I thought it would be, wtf?! This is more like freaking therapy! I swear when I went through the questions it sounded more entertaining. What do you think? Should we press on or stop this? Let's do one more today, maybe they get better.... Day 4: Your Children: Also really personal, OMG! As you know I don't talk much about my family here...but in the spirit of sharing I will. My son! I am so proud of my son and all he has achieved! I love him so much and am grateful every day for him. He was a good boy who grew into a good man. He is starting a new road in his life; taking college classes, adjusting to being back in the states and being an “official adult”. Our recent move and the divorce hurt him too, but his humor and steadfastness never wavered. He stuck to his plan and is moving forward. I know I am truly blessed to have him in my life and am grateful everyday for him! Okay that was 4 days of sharing my person life and gratitude. I'm sure it only gets better from here!
I will finish the challenge out and attempt to sort the 1,000's of pictures I have of my recent trips so I can get back to travel posting, yeah? Catch you later- Hello World, Hope things are going good for you. Been really busy here. Sorry for the lack of updates.. I promise to do better. Many things have been going on lately, actually massive amounts of Good things are going on, but they just leave me with no time to write. I'm headed to San Antonio this weekend for a little R & R. When things settle down I plan on spending a day or two laying by the pool, soaking up the sun & doing nothing. Then I'm sure I will organize my pictures, trip notes, etc. and will be posting like a mad woman. Or probably more realistically I will be sleeping, so it could go either way, lol. #Truth Meanwhile, I rec'd the March Conscious Box. #Score! I stepped outside to take a few quick pictures before the rains started. It has been raining just about everyday here, which is great, but before i could get many pictures it was pouring. See raindrops beginning on pictures? #Opps The theme this month was Lucky. They were doing a give away with a clover. Did you find one? And LOTS of other Good things. This box is mostly organic items that you (or at least I) never knew existed and NOW CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT.
:O See the Crystal Deodorant towelettes? Super great to throw in gym back or pack back. Never know when you will need them. Also see the pink ribbon on the package? I think this maybe the ONLY one that breast cancer ass. has approved for use. Meaning THIS WILL NOT GIVE YOU CANCER like so many other deodorants. #WTF?!?! :O Before I could snap anymore photos it was pouring. So I ran into the office and it was all over.. My co workers were letting me take pictures before they started going through the loot, lol. Everyone loves these boxes so much! I am thinking of upping the subscription to 2 boxes. Ok, my alarm is going off, time to go into a meeting. Take care and talk soon--- Earlier a friend asked me if I could pick up his daughter from her job at our local Subway. I said sure. As I fetched her home she related this story to me: She was working when an older man (she is 20 so use your imagination) came in and said that he just drove 20 miles for 2 Subway sandwiches. (This is rural Texas so that's not that odd) He asked her how she liked working at Subway, as she made his order. She told him honestly that she was just there to pay for college. They discussed education and he agreed that it was the most important thing. He then asked her how much her next tuition payment was and she said, "$250." He paid for his sandwiches and said, "I'll be right back." Then left the store. The man then returned with a check for $250.USD and handed it to her.
He was Giving her the next tuition payment! He only asked that she send him a thank you note with a copy of the receipt showing she had made the payment. She was speechless! She remembered herself and thanked him as he left. :0 So nice things do happen everyday, don't they?! I just love stories like this of random acts of kindness. I asked her if she recognized the name on the check *still in her hand and she said," No, he's from the next town over." :0 |
